Re: How to get uber viewdistance in SP

For more enjoyment edit any sniper rifle's .tweak file

    Under this line ObjectTemplate.zoom.addZoomFactor 0.2

    Add the following lines:

    ObjectTemplate.zoom.addZoomFactor 0.06
    ObjectTemplate.zoom.addZoomFactor 0.02

You can add as many zooms as you like. I play with the increased view all the time with friends/bots on large sp/co-op 64 player maps like Mashtuur, Karkand, and Sharqi.

I wish EA patched the game to greater view distance... in other BF series you could see farther. Whan I fly a plane I have to watch the "fog barrier" moveing in front of me witch makes me feel I'm in some cage. I dont like it. PATCH PLZ

a word of advise, punkbuster actively scans for this, so make sure you change this back before trying multiplayer..

wouldnt want anyone to get banned and more

According to the EULA, you can be sued for up to $10,000 plus court costs for doing it. If you play the game you agree to the EULA. Yeah, I'm just pulling your leg. What they really do is send someone to your house to break your knee caps.

Punkbuster doesn't scan this. It just doesn't let you join a server with modified content. And if it would let (non-pure-server), the worst that could happen could be kick and ban from the very server by admin. And to be honest, a memory hack is way easier way to do this in singleplayer

This seems to be a means to gain an unfair advantage over other players. I would hope it is never used on a multiplayer server.

                    Weather.... you mean like.... FOG!!!??!!?!?!??

You call the fog in BF2 a weather effect
Weather effects would be active rainstorms moving across the map cloud cover, lighting storms, snow that actually changed the look of the field and even vehicle handling. Those are weather effects few systems could runn anything like that now but it;s my hope for the future.

Please read, it's already been stated over and over again that you will get kicked for having modified content.

I wonder how that tweak will work in Kubra Dam while in a jet...

To join a server with the modified contend thing all you have to do is make the file you altered read only again.

I was playing around with this when I tried putting grapling hooks into Karkand after SF came out.

This has nothing to do with punkbuster. It's the CRC check that was introduced into the battlefield series before punkbuster was adopted in the BF42 1.4 patch. It checks to make sure all of your files contents match the original games files. In the beginning there was a pure/unpure server option which was changed to pure only upon the release of BFV. This is why people get an unmodified content message.

I tried saying the same thing on page3. This isn't a sarcastic jab at anyone, but I don't think some of the people in here are able to differentiate between PB and Pure Mode.

                                For those that don't know:

PB= Scanning what is loaded into memory and in very few instances they scan a whole file. Not sure in this game, but a good example is in BF42 they scan the whole BF42.exe file.

Pure Mode aka Content Check= Scans file integrity, to put it short and in not so complex terms. As in, it checks to make sure you haven't altered the games core files.
