moving in circles/different directions while still moving forwards is just as unrealistic as a bunnyhopper. no one in rl moves erratically in different directions to avoid sniper fire. however, not running in a straight line is taught to avoid being shot.

ultimately, i will do anything to avoid a tank shooting me, including jumping, and it has worked many a time. hate me if you want.

I don't understand the hate for bunny hopping. It's just like any other game, shoot them on the down stroke, and they're dead. Sure, its easier when you have a rail gun and a rocket launcher and the game has much better hit recognition, but it's not any harder than hitting someone not jumping up and down.

People hate bunny-hopping because for some reason they choose to place an honor code/moral idea on how to play a computer game and believe that everyone should follow the same set of self-inflicted rules.

Remember people, it's a Video Game not real life or serious buisness.

Bunny hopping, prone spamming, dolphin diving is a necessity in this game. why...to AVOID being killed. the cone of fire has dumbed down an otherwise great franchise...so the skilled players are left with what they can control....avoidance.

I would think working as a team would prevent you from being killed. Not jumping around like a clown at a ringley bros. circus.
And why does these so called "skilled" people have to control something?
Games pretty simple. Go to flag, cap flag, keep flag. Thats about all this game is.

I found a video where someone does bunny hopping. See Assault kit

There's also 4 other videos since this which are seriously worth a laugh!

Tell that to the other team that is bunny hopping around while making a push on your main.

Since we can't control where our bullets go because DICE has injected randomness into the cone of fire, all we can control is the countermeasure to that...which is avoiding being shot by any means necessary.

Do you play in high level competition? I do and I want to win.

Just for instance first of all i hate Bunny Hoppers like hell, but i dont discriminate them. I play this game by a code of Honor and Moral and i know many players do it too. I live my real Life also by an Code of Honor and Moral yes i am a former Soldier.

But indeed there is no reason for a Server Rule that Bunny Hopping is not permitted. Because as in real life also here are coming different Individuals together. As in real Life they have different opinions about how to handle things. And as in Real Life you have different options to choose from to fit into your ideas and ideals.
There are thousands of different Servers out there, if i dont like the Server im playing at i leave the server. Simple as that!

But there is no need to insult anybody here in the Forum as well as Ingame, but thats a part of growing up you will learn that sooner or later, i admit some people dont learn it in there intire life but well anyway.
Try to treat everybody with the same respect that you expect to be treated with. This will make our whole life easier and will reduce the numbers if banned forum members dramaticly.

                      Regards

playing at high level of competition doesnt make it right or wrong, and i like to win too. actually, i'd rather place last in points and win the round for the team.

the designers of this game put multiple jumping ability in the game for playablility's sake (they had to be aware of the ramifications of this considering gaming's history, and it could have been fixed before release). when i started playing the demo, i didnt jump much then, but saw it everywhere. it's been in just about every game i can think of (super mario LOLOL), and it has worked time and time again. personally i like the ol' adage, "when in Rome... do as the Romans." it sort of goes along with that 'golden rule' you mentioned cowboy, but it's a lil off course, because it's monkey see-monkey do.
