That's what I think of when I hear 'bunny hopping', just jumping up and down over and over, not the matrix moves Alcorr is describing. Granted I haven't been playing BF2 long so I have never seen anyone hover 5 feet in the air, but what he describes does sound like it would suck to play against.
Anyone that thinks that hovering in midair 5 feet off the ground and dropping to the ground and move 10 feet to the side and then going 5 feet in the air while hovering and shooting in midair is a style of play needs thier head examined...

There are some instances that I definately would call BUNNY HOPPING from some of these posts that I have read, and now pretty much see that the rule should stay, but I still beleive that if you are trying to get away from some sort of gunfire and JUMPING is the only option then my god if I jumped three times to get behind a wall then that is not BUNNY HOPPING. Thats trying to save my azz. I mean soon we will see rules that you cant jump at all!
Look, i hait servers that say NO bunny hopping becuse its part of the game and that in the ladder im in, you have to learn it if u want to even get close to killing someone, let alone saveing your self. So i sugest take that rule off your server. So what if people complain about it, your clan shuld learn to bunny hopp becuse it helps in the long run if your clan wants to enter a ladder maybe even cal someday. My 2 cents.

Instead of bunnyhopping there you could just move side to side, select nade and throw some at him and in the meantime your sprint will recharge and sprint back to cover....

Thats just a ridiculous statement....heres an example of hyperion0000 the guy ranked in top 20 and he bunnyhops let me tell you what I saw yesterday on wake....
He jumped in the air, dropped to the ground then INSTANTLY jumped and hovered in midair 5 feet off the ground while moving 10 feet to the side then dropped to the ground to fire rinse and repeat until im dead....
All while having perfect accuracy to hit me.
You call that easy to hit? Hahaha, you are suffering from self deception or you are a hacker yourself.
Try hitting something that has the profile (since hes prone in midair) of about a square foot and try hitting it as it moves like a cheeta from side to side and all the while has the prone firing advantage....
Get your head out of your arse and see the truth...bunnyhoppers are nothing but lame scum....they can tell themselves its a valid tactic all they want but you guys are only decieving yourselves...

Also people who complain are mostly the people who can't hit a guy in the air.
because if they are comming down or up I just shoot a little above or beneath the head.
but most players are just to slow to follow the movements and instead of improving them self they just whine instead.
because people will stop bunny hopping if it's stop giving a advangtes above others .
and that advangets is: people can't aim
