Even before the 1.2 patch, the "NO Bunny Hopping" rule was always a little noobish to say the least.

Now it falls into the nonsensical rule category.

I agree. I believe it was just used as an excuse for those who cannot lead a target or aim.

My rule is simple...

If it anoys me when other people do it I dont do it, if it doesnt bug me than I do it.

this is also known as the golden rule. I dont find hoppers anoying (easy targets) so if you do it I dont care.

when im hunting with my knife i zig, hop, zag, hop, prone, crouch, zig, zag, prone, hop etc until i reach my target......if you have a problem with that, then you need to change, not me....its called 'adapt and overcome' if you cannot do that then why are you playing a war game silly pants? :P

i think its a valid tactic just so long as people are not using macros, for dolphin diving, but then again, dolphin diving is not the subject here...

if you cannot hit a person who is jumping around, then you need more bunnyhoppers to force you to improve your skill (or lack thereof), obviously its a weak point you need work on.....how silly it is, instead of working to better yourself, and overcome obstacles, ppl choose to complain them away, staying forever at the same noob level, and never advancing....

btw, i dont bunny hop unless i have a knife in my hand...and im charging multiple targets

i also dont have a problem killing bunnyhoppers, even wih a knife its relatively easy

EDIT: oh yeah, and also, i do believe it is against the ROE to enforce such rules that limits the way in which a person may play...bunnyhopping has already been adressed, and a fix had been implimented, so there is no reason to impose such a rule on any server (unless its unranked)

You can't jump and fire, therefor bunnyhopping is mainly used for getting out of the way of bullets.

It should be allowed.

There is no fair way to admin users who bunny hop.

No bunny hopping is a rule that I have always enforced on the server I admin, along with no dolphin diving.

In my opinion bunny hopping has to be the lamest form of evasion going, and really tells you a lot about a player's ability; I personally lose all respect for anyone doing it.

When I get caught in a dangerous situation, I will kneel, go prone or strafe left and right to avoid fire. Whilst doing all this I will be changing to whatever weapon I can, and sometimes easily work from carbine, to pistol to knife – all in a few seconds.
Granted, I invariably get killed, for instance, when confronted by a tank. But I take pride in knowing that I did not stoop to a gaming low, and that the other person gained a deserved kill.

I can honestly say, there is no need at all for bunny hopping, there are plenty of ways to increase your survivability in the game, and even if you do die, you respawn!

So why lower yourselves to such shameful play.... ?

Just my take on it, no doubt the animal rights activists will be along to add their 2p.

People who get in the situation of spraying the enemy but they are still getting 'popped at' deserve to get killed due to the other person earning the kill.

If you can't learn how to do an accurate 2 round burst to the shoulder/head then thats your fault.
Don't n00b the other person out of an earned kill. If I find some one shooting accurate I ignore all the fire coming at me > aim for the head > 2-3 round burst at a time, usually getting a "Boom Headshot" scenario.

its amusing to see ppl whine and complain about bunnyhopping....

if you whine about bunnyhopping, dont use the word noob, because the noob is the one who is too busy whining, and complaining to develop the skills needed to overcome a bunnyhopper.....im no fan of bunnyhopping, but i will use it when i have a knife, because its effective, if i have a gun, there is no need to bunnyhop, as the kills are almost too easy sometimes........i also see nothing wrong with hopping around a corner away from armor...ive killed a good plenny of bunnyhoppers, with knife, guns, and armor, both hopping myself, or prone....

the only shame in bunnyhopping is the whiney complaints of ppl either too lazy, or too stupid to develop skillful tactic/aim to overcome the obsticle before them.....so complain those challenges away.......maybe EA will remove the ability to jump and go prone.....wouldnt u love that?!!

personally i dont hop in a fire fight. Use alot of sprint, crouch and prone. I try to find cover quick if i dont see them at first. I have hopped over rockets when people shot them at me before, but i dont think that people would consider that bunny hopping just a lucky jump.

I have to say, if I get in a one on one I'll run and shoot, prone or kneel and try and get the shots in where it counts. SOmetimes I'm lucky and catch the guy with half a mag and he ends up having to go for a reload and thats when it starts.........jumping like a crazed nut to avoid being hit until his reload is done.

I know he doesn't want to die about as much as I want to kill him but as has been said above, I find it an annoyance rather than a 'noob' thing to do and every time I see it I resign myself to either getting a lucky shot on the hit box as they pogo around, or losing out to the full mag he has when he stops jumping about like a loon!

My only suggestion would have been to introduce a jump bar along the lines of the health and sprint bars. Say, get 2 jumps out of a full bar, with a half bar reload taking 3 - 4 secs.

I think this jump angst might be from the years of playing OFP where there was no jumping at all.....or swimming for that matter!!

Don't assume that everyone against bunny hopping is whining, I personally couldn't care less if the other person wants to hop around – it's just that I do not respect anyone who uses that as a tactic.
I voiced my opinion, I did not whine.

I don't hate bunny hoppers because I cannot hit them, it's just that I see them as playing unfairly.
Granted BF2 is a public game, and with that comes many different styles of play, but I would at least expect some degree of sportsmanship from those I play against.

And with regards to your comment about removing jumping – are you really that stupid? Why would that be a good move, what would it possibly achieve, and no, I wouldn't like it.

All bunny hoppers should get the following attire:

1. Clip on rabbit ears
2. fairy wings
3. a TUTU (pink)

Now go run around the mall with that on, and you will understand how your perceived in game.
