All these people jump in defence of DICE and EA, yet I don't think they even know why they do. I hope it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside, maybe you should apply for a PR job at EA. Some people are actually being paid for the job you're doing for them, sounds good eh?! Yep, they've brainwashed you into doing their job, selling their game. Keep it up, they're hoping for a hefty bonus this year.

Battlefield 2 is a far from perfect product, that no one can deny, and if you're willing to give EA your money after playing a sub-par game, then you truly are a sucker. EA must thank god every day that there is people like you, willing to afford them a second, third, forth chance, to sell a bellow average game full price.

It's your choice, I make my decision, you make yours. I refuse to be a sucker.

You're the second guy to say that, but for me its the opposite :) I'm a long time Unreal Tournament/2003/2004 player who just got BF2 two weeks ago to kill time until UT2007 shows up later this year. So BF2142 sounds intriguing to me, but I won't being buying it from what EA has demonstrated here.

They jump to their defense because they have no concept or enjoyment of a balanced game means or for learned skill to become good at a game.

Everytime the the EA/Dice lovin nubz die in-game, they beg EA/Dice to noobify the game and EA/Dice does it for them (screwing the rest of the community who doesn't complain left and right on forums). This has to be the only game were patches focused on totally changing game play vs fixing bugs and exploits. (The few bugs and exploits fixed don't even count, considering the mother-load of new ones that come out with every patch).

BF2 is just about dead in the competitive field (several top teams already droped out). Most will not play again after season 3 making BF2 the first BF game to become totally dead after 3 seasons (1st time caused by the developer too).

Several weeks ago: EA/Dice contacted the competitive community asking what they would like in 2142. Basically they said "f**k-off" it's to late, ETQW here we come. 2142 will be a dead stick come a season 2 in cometitive play (if there is any at all). That makes me very happy. Perhaps the the developers will take note for a change. A game with no competitive community is a doomed game.

Would you buy a car knowing that last one you bought from the same company was in constant need of repair? Unlikely.

Would you fly a plane knowing that previous planes made my the same company constantly crashed? Unlikely.

So why do you buy software knowing that the companies previous versions were buggy to the point of being unplayable for a lot of people?

My main concern with BF2 has been jet balance, since thats what I find most fun.

In terms of technical issues, I had a problem today after I reinstalled saying "modified content blah blah" and I was like WTF.

But after doing a couple mins research I found out all I had to do was reapply patch 1.3. Everything is peachy now.

Obviously we wouldnt buy stuff if it didnt work. I've never had a technical problem until today, and it wasnt a software issue.

I look forward to AF shortly and 2142 at xmas.

Honestly the only thing they've done to the game that ****ed me off has been the constant server crashes with 1.3, everything else I take in stride...just a game.

Because we Can We Have and We will... We have Free will to do what we wish.. regardless of any one else's suggestion.. that is the wonderful thing about it.

And yes AF is sweet.. fun and worth the measly ten dollars. Actually thats an understatement.. its beyond the value of Ten this time around if you place that same ten dollar value on the EF booster, making this one worth $20.

Would I pay that much.. hmm have to think about it.. probably not but I would rather pay $10

if you realised that there are better mappers making custom maps out there than those who've been making maps for official release, you wouldnt have any quarrels with that statement.

Because sometimes, just sometimes, I play this game for fun. As aggrevated as the game can make me, many have done so in the past, and many will in the future.

I'm not saying I will buy AF or even BF2142, but I definitely won't dismiss the fact that both look really fun to play, and in the end, that's all that matters.

Well, that and saving up money to spend on games amongst other things.

                            PEACE

Probably because we are limited by our choices.
Plenty of choices for gaming titles however.

and it took the government millions to do something about their monopoly.
