**** EA, they screw it up with every "Patch"
If you would use those patches(bandages) in real life, you would be piosioned to dead

I know the feeling, this is bs. I have tried everything, i have been 3 days doing this. I even went as far a getting a new computer. THis is the worst time i had installing a game in my life. If any one know any other ways to fix this please advise.

I refuse to reinstall my entire game to fix this. Has anyone found a better fix to it or do we have to wait for EA to fix it? (Which of course will be in a new patch that will have something else wrong with it. Good job, EA!!!)

                  i never had problems until 1.21 (!)
No, I argued with a rather smug EA technician about that. He asked me to read the card list on the read me file, and when my 6200 wasn't listed he said

"That's your problem, your card isn't supported by the game".

I told him that for one thing it was working on 1.22, and that the 6200 was listed on the game box, to which he eventually apologised and said that the Read me file had an error in it.

I have never downloaded any part of the 1.3 patch and have never even played the game before, but it crashes to the desktop after showing the logo for a while.

Do you think downloading the patch would help or would it not matter?

                                CTD TEMP FIX
For All You Ppl Out There Getting "Mildly" Irritated With CTD Issues

Last Night having Searched the web for hours for a fix to the CTD problem that is annoying me and 90% of the other BF2 players i decided to go all out to try and fix it.

It seems everyones problems vary, from the join server button CTD or just simple 10mins of play and then cut out.

My Situation was as follows, i had only been playing BF2 for about 2 Weeks and had experienced from the ofset major CTD problems with the 1.3 Patch, they ranged from several CTD in game and Mostly CTD when joining a server. I also used to get my crappy monitor turning itself onto standby<This happens with Americas Army 2 But I havn't Played that in AGES>.

But Last night i played for 6 hours with no Problems, so heres how to recreate what i did, it may wrk for you....

                                BTW ReInstall Rarely Works
I think that it was probably the repatch that did it, if you ever get the CTD issues again just repatch it seems to work
