i tried completely removing all things BF2 and re-installing, then did both incremental & full patch (this was 2 different times), and my game works up untilll you have to login, then it does it's login thing, but instead of loging in it goes black,(i thought o new patch must be very big) then it crashes to the F'ing desktop. i wish i could the team responsible and teach them how it feels when "crash" their face to the "F'ing desktop"!

I am getting a different problem, I cant even log into the account server! I tried deleting my account from my documents, and retrieving it.. still no go. Downloading 1.3 full right now to see if that fixes it, i used the incrimental. I think the EA employees are fixing one thing and breaking another, over and over. GG EA

My cd drive just stopped running the game all together. I have tryed 3 new cdroms today and wtf it still wont run. All setting on my computer say that the cdrom work but it just wont run bf2.

that should not be the source of the problem, because I am having the same issue and my gfx card is an ati mobility 9700

Mobility chips are not (officially) supported.

This is a crappy thread....uninstall delete all folders...reinstall patch 1.22 or whatever the previous patch number is...and wait for the slobs at dice to fix 1.3

Otherwise...get out of the house and get some exercise.

I also have startup problems ,black screen forever thingy, very annoying. However, if i click with my mouse somehow it always starts up faster. This somehow triggers the game to continue loading... dunno why.

like how long has it been since nice fresh install of the o/s on a freshly foramtted hard drive

xp gets very buggy after a few months time

Nah, I've had the same XP install for over 2 years. And I install/uninstall tons of crap every week, and fiddle with a lot. You do have to be constantly vigilant about all kinds of potential problems though.

If it doesn't work after one reinstall, look somewhere else for the problem: heat, drivers (ALL drivers, even motherboard), RAM, hard drive, viruses.

i removed everything, re-installed w/ full 1.3 patch, it worked fine.
then I quit the game for 45 min. to eat dinner, and it wouldn't start again.
looks like it's gonna take un-install/re-install everything each time i want to play. yay.

Thats what happend 2 me i played it workd i quit came back and now it crahes after pressing join game!!!!! ITS F***ED!!!!!!!
