I see that only ~25% of people who saw this thread intend to buy another game based off of the now broken Bf2 engine. Now, say, another 15% buy it anyways. This will probably be enough of a kick to the nuts of EA that they will listen. This kind of action will probably be the only possible way to affect change for the "community".
I personally will not buy the game for many reason, the least of which being my 7800GT can no longer play on the game engine smoothly. My 7800GT can play FEAR at ~60fps on the highest settings, and Oblivion on almost maxed out settings, but this game has somehow been patched to the point where you need Crossfire or SLi to get the same performance you could get with a single 7800GT 6 months ago.
The reason I won't buy it is simple. At this point, I bought BF2, SF, and EF. For two computers. My wife wanted to play with me. I spent $180 on this stupid game. We had a lot of fun til this patch. Now, we only finish about a round a night. The server usually crashes during the second round.
And, to the person claiming to be blazin.uk, it has nothing to do with the end user. Well, maybe not nothing. But when multiple SERVERS crash and everyone loses connection, it isn't the player's fault.
If 2142 is using the same engine as BF2, and they can't fix glaring errors and issues with the current product, why should anyone think that the next game should be different? If people buy BF2, SF, EF, and AF, that's $100 dollars. They made their money on us, and then broke BF2 badly. I hope they don't think that will "force us" to buy BF2142, because all it did for me, and subsequently my wife and friends, is ensure the fact that we WON'T buy it.

They make BF booster packs and bf2142 and other sh!t but not fixing bf2
Who wanted wehicle drop? Who sad that squad hopping is bad and there shouldnt be a server option to enable/disable it?
server browser was never working properly. with every patch i have more frequent CrashToDesktop and i didint change anything on my pc ... not even drivers ... same thing with connection problem ... disconnects.
I dont mind that much ingame bugs (lots of them) but this is ....
If I do get 2142 there'll be less whinos again like boycott BF2 day hurray! YES! IM SO HAPPY!
oh yes it is fun thats not the problem the problem is that its so buggy that i often end up not playing the game cuz i am tired of having to reinstall the game each time i try the new patch or been drop to desktop because of an unknown error or having to browse true the web for hour to find what could be a possible answer to my problem. so yes the game when it runs is great but its to buggy to be fully enjoyable
Lucky you, I have had maybe 2 CTDs and that was only because my LCD monitor doesn't support the same refresh rate that BF2 was set to from when I had a crappy CRT monitor.
wow, just because the lot of you can't run your computer correctly, causing your BF2 to hang or ctd, because of all the useless crap you keep on there, you blame dice or ea for it? you are just children. learn how to care for your machine, and the software will take care of itself. if it's that big of a problem, reformat and reinstall.

I agree with you, Blazin. I have no weird extra software on my computer and I always keep my hard drive clean. But after the 1.3 patch I have had 3 crashes :/ but the game luckily still works quite fine. But I'm still very convinced that DICE can't program a good and a "light" game with atleast quite good graphics. DICE should look to other companies how they make their games. There are many games in the market that have very high quality graphics and they run 10 times better than BF2 with much less lag and bugs.
