Well I too spent a good deal to build a computer to play bf2 (because my laptop got 8fps), which i just built it about a month ago...

You can never tell. I was dead sure I wouldn't buy AF because all that ever got posted here was the air whores fawning over the A-10 and Little Bird. But after seeing my son play some time on the maps I realized it was fine so I got it. And for all the armor driving around, I don't have that much trouble. I like all 3 maps, and it's better than EF. And the air power in AF causes me much less trouble then in the rest of BF2.

i have not even been to the totalbf2142 site, not once, that pretty much explains my opinion of EA's care for the potential bf2 would've had through better implementation, and more overall care about their customers playing it. now, i do realise that totalbf*.com creates none of my negative feelings toward Dice/EA, and feel pointing that out will help you understand; i just don't care to play the game that's going play better than bf2 ie bf2142. it will have more support (maybe), better browser functionablility, and supposedly be less intensively straining to your computer. i wanted those things for bf2. if they'd said bf3 was coming out, with all these things, with new maps, vehicles, scenarios, and gameplay modes I would have pre-ordered it like i did bf2... even with it's track record. like if they had started ground up with bf2 all over again, i would have bought into it. yes, i would pay another $50 to have this game in all it's glory, but only if it's gameplay/functionality was a lil' tighter. maybe they will do this in the future, but for now, i will look for other games to play if i am not playing bf42 or 2/ and/or their mods.
DC really grabbed me into the modern combat multiplayer gameplay more than any other game to date, except bf2. i played bf42vanilla and thought it was ok, but when the DC mod came out i knew i had found my new gaming niche.
while attending the university of alabama in birmingham (UAB), america invaded iraq, and my attention to higher learning died off. staying up late each evening to see the latest events, and if i was not watching the war i was playing DC. i know that, psychologically, this can't be a good thing. regardless, that craving for present day combat gaming is what I need, in a "cathartic" manner of speaking.
*sometimes i go in an empty server just to be a medic with a simple m16, just to target practice. for some reason America's Army, Soldner, and other modern combat games didn't grab me.
flat out though, EA, i won't be buying your new title because of my own set of principles. this same principle has been seen by the many bf42'ers that are still playing because they don't care for modern combat, which i respect their preference also. and to anyone who can't wait for 2142, kudos to you, and i mean that sincerely. have fun...

BF2 is a crock of **** since 1.3 patch i had 10 server disconnects and 2-3 crashes last night in 3 hours.
They can **** off with all their booster packs and any crappy 2142 ********, fix this **** and i might consider buying DICE products in the futureComment

I may get the 2142 demo. But to decide, I will look more closely at reviews... not those of magazines who like good graphics but the communities who actually play these games properly.
EDIT: Agreed that whoever is responsible should stop releasing half assed patches and expansions/addons and fix the ORIGINAL game.Comment

ha ha, i couldnt fit 2142 on my system if i wanted to. i've got around 10gigs left on a 120gig drive, considering i have bf42 and bf2 installed with all of their mods. and i have to save room for the soon to come out mods/custom content. i dont even have enough room to defrag... :0)Comment
