Re: Games like BF2 are the reason that consoles will always suck
I know . . . and that is why people own consoles for real gaming because they are way cheaper.
Totally non-sequitor. You can't fly a plane to down the street to the store and it is a real pain to drive across the country. They serve two different purposes.
An Xbox360 is just Motoral PowerPC processor running at 3.2GHz that has been modded as a dedicated videogame processing set. That is a powerful technology and it is the newest console yet it STILL does not come close to what is available for PCs. The fact that it can't handle as much as a PC is evidence enough that the technology is not top of the line because if it WERE top of the line and it was modded to target games it would be superior. However, it would also cost 2000$ dollars. So, please, before you call me a liar at least know what you are talking about. But thanks for flaming me, great debating style.
Yes, becuase they are based on entirely different architectures and instruction sets and basically have to be programmed from scratch which can lead to disastrous results if one is skilled in one architecture and not the other.
I am not saying that consoles suck. However, a top of the line computer is far superior than the newest version of any console when it comes to processing power and video. Soon computers will have physics cards as well which will take a while for consoles to start using and we will see a huge gap between the two in gaming.
Give me an effing break.
Not true at all. The Quake III engine is still being used a ton thanks to mods. The HL2 will be around for a long time because of the modding community. Frankly, because of the ranked status that servers pretty much need in BF2, I am afraid that the community won't be as strong.

Im not a hardware expert, but from what Ive read and heard, this statement is a blatant lie.
Right, nevermind that there are tons of ports consoles-to-PC that look and play hideously.
Graphically, there are a lot of games that look pretty on consoles and PC games just cant match them. Resident Evil Remake, probably one of the prettiest game I have ever played, for example.
Stating a fact without backing it up is a pretty dangerous thing.
Im not saying that you SHOULDNT mod a game. Im saying that a games natural life cycle doesnt always include modding. And console games modding aspect is limited. That is common sense, and shouldnt be adressed as an issue.
