Is there anyway the bf2 community could help on this topic?I use ASE and i was browsing for a server and i decided to VIEW a knife server,iwas shocked to find nearly everyone on that server had over 200 global points,the highest was on nearly 400,now ffs this is ridulous,something needs to be done...oh and btw most of the players were very very high up in ranks....

Why do you want to spoil aother peoples fun i mean there are no others game modes and people have found a different way to have fun.
Just play your game and leave them alone

If thats the case then why didnt they use one of the many UNRANKED pistol/knife/paddle servers then?? I have played on them (unranked) a couple of times with m8s for a laugh, but i didnt exploit the stats sytem to do itOriginally posted by pYura

I hate when ppl complain about the way others play the game. As said numerous times; Any 16 man server, it is possible to break 200 points with pistols or otherwise. No reason BF2 has to be the only game without a weapon restriction option. It's hard to even have a pistol server without an admin. But you dont need pistols to get that score. It just so happens that with pistols the noobs tend to get better scores because they have a better chance.
There aint nothing wrong with building moral of a soldier by letting him score against the rest of the leets.Comment

I like the stats system. I enjoy the progress I gain, the awards and other stuff. I don't like that people have suck a lack of integrity when it comes to a simple video game that they have to "pad" their stats just to raise their stats. I play the game to have fun first and foremost. The gaining of points to increase rank, and earn awards is a fun added bonus to me. As far as "padders" go, I think they should have their stats reset for the simple reason of they are exploiting the stat system, and that to me is almost as bad as using any other exploit in the game to gain unearned points. On the other hand, I don't go looking for the kind of servers that they play on, so I don't ever see any of them. As far as I'm concerned they are missing out on the "real" fun of this game, and I feel sorry for them.Comment

It's not a matter of them "just having Fun"
They are breaking the rules if they are running a ranked server like that and need to be shown the error.
If their intent was justto have fun then they should be doing it unranked...
Oh wait...Stat padding IS fun for some people...see what kind of mentality this ranking system has encouraged.Comment

Newsflash k&p servers are not about padding, as in free points. If you cant shoot, you will not get 200 points, instead you'll end up with 5:40 K/D ratio. And... on an average 32slot K&P round hardly anyone scores above 100. Which is not untypical for high-ranked players - who are the majority of those playing there.
This kind of play requires aim, reflexes and in fact more tactics than an average FFA round. BTW, I earned my expert pistol on a regular server during regular round. I do however play K&P almost exclusively because its just much more fun. I recommend these newbies with <50000 points to kindly shut up and wait until THEY are bored with BF2.

Ya i play unranked ones at times, i think theey should be legal. Its more of a challenge then normal servers, and i have more fun on them. I do play unranked ones only, but i finally maneged my expert knife on karkand yesterday

Newsflash...Every person I know who's been on a K&P servers says that everyone drops off as soon as they get their badges.

I was surprised too how easy it is to find those with ASE or in game browser. You'd think that it would be the end of that server very quickly when someone at BFRoE searches and find out about it.
The other night i was playing very late and i was trying to find a good server with ASE. Most of the servers with ppl still playing were citymaps only and at least like half a dozen of those clearly stated in the server name that they are knife and pistol only. And yes.. i had the filter on to only show ranked servers too.
Knife servers are not the biggest injustice in the BF2 world and i won't lose any sleep over this matter.
If it isn't about points, then it should be an unranked server and it shouldn't bother the players that the points don't get added to the account. I haven't tried but many ppl say it's a fun way to play the game so of course ppl that want to play like that should have the chance to do it.Originally posted by pYura

So ppl that get alot of points with just knives and defibrillators don't bother me that much. Still it would be nice to be able to trust that when you team up with a high ranking player he can do something else too than just revive ppl in a crowd of player models that makes u think youre in an opening of a new IKEA in some soviet country.
Anyways. at the moment ranked K&P servers are against the RoE so i don't really need to say anything more. If u think K&P servers should be alowwed to be ranked, your problem is with EA/Dice/BFRoE.com, not me.Comment

Well, that simply not true. I see the same people playing on these servers for the past 2 months (when they started re-appearing in europe). This may be true on servers you play on, but I've seen a lot of 16 slot 24/7 karkand servers with players with well over 100 points. I've also joined a couple before I knew they were against the roe and nobody was capping flags except to let the USMC cap the hotel to stop their ticket drain and then they all were meeting there to go at it. The minute I capped another flag, I got kicked. That kind of play IS about nothing else except free points, because they purposely make it so the rounds last as long as possible. If the players were playing to win, and not for the points flags would be getting capped, the rounds wouldn't last as long, and the points wouldn't be so high.Originally posted by OgnacyComment
