    Over-react much?

Why is that some people feel they have the right to act like arrogant pricks as soon as someone challenges their opinion on a VIDEOGAME?

So you've worked in the military with claymores. Good job. Do you think that parading the forums with your prior 'blasting cap' knowledge gives you the right to be an idiot? Try to remember the following:

    a)BF2 is a videogame
    b)BF2 is a videogame
    c)BF2 is a videogame

If you're so obsessed with realism, why the hell would you even want a modern war game to be able to use S-mines? They were used by Germany in WWII and the VC/NVA during Vietnam. They're mainly considered to be an illegal weapon of war and would not benefit BF2 one bit by making an appearance.

    You're almost laughable.

Can't claymores be equipped with tripwires?

I just wish as far as bf2 went that they did FF and always did ff none of this server setting admin deciding crap.

I remember where in BFV you could drop like 10 of those in one spot and then jump in the middle of them. BOOOOM! You went flying at LEAST 100ft in the air and could fly considerable distances.

I think covering more area isn't as important as the whole balance thing, they are everywhere on maps like karkand...literally, I go two feet and die, then revived and I go another two feet and die.

its technically not schrapnel its like a way powerful shot gun exploding shootin oversized bb's at ya. generally within 30 yad everything dies from the bb's and or concusion affect from there to 100 yds it's usually injury which is actually better as we learned in Nam u kill them they leave or bury them u injure them they have to spend mega resources keeping them alive. think about it this way your buddy jimbo gets killed you grieve for a second and go back to fighting, your buddy jimbo gets injured you try to fixe him up and get him back to safety instead of 1 man out of the equation 2 or more...

thanks for clearing that up (the bb's vs. shrapnel) I honestly had no idea what asploded when they went off lol. I thought someone on here just said it was a certain amount of C4? Or maybe we're talking about Bouncing bettys that have the BBs...oh well.

For Christ sake pull your head out man.

Before the the roasting starts you can of course look up educated guesses and speculation.

Quick someone tell me the top speed of the Raptor??!!?

Google, Wikipidia, sure they know all the answers.
Well maybe ex forces chaps would know
I can't say why the effective range of a claymore would be hush-hush top secret lol

                      Here's how a claymore works...

BY THE WAY, I was a combat engineer in the 10th Mountain Division for 4 years and have actual combat experience, so dont bother arguing with me about my descriptions because you would already be wrong.

Anyway, a claymore doesn't just go off by itself. It has to have a blasting cap screwed into it with an electrical transmission line running to a handheld "clacker". You depress the handle on the clacker, it creates electricity that sets off the cap and detonates the mine. This practice of dropping claymores wherever and running off to the other side of the map is so ridiculous!

Not only that, but claymores are a bunch of steel ball bearings stuck to about 2 1/2 pounds of C4 encased in a plastic sheath... THEY DONT JUST KILL THE GUY TWO FEET AWAY FROM THEM. The actual kill radious is supposedly classified but it's a helluva lot more than two feet.

Anyway, the point of my rant is this: Who's ever heard of the BOUNCING BETTY? Pretty much anybody who's ever watched a war movie, right? Well, guess what? IRL they have almost all the characteristics of a BF2 claymore. They have pressure prongs for stepping on them, but are also tilt-activated so you can rig them with tripwires as well to cover a larger area.

I think replacing the Claymore with the Bouncing Betty would pretty much silence the discussion about them BECAUSE AT LEAST IT WOULD BE HALF-ASS REALISTIC. And not only that... but think of the kick-ass animation of a Betty popping out of the ground to about waist level and blowing a dude apart? :p

i hate the bullet whores. DICE needs to fix this.

Furthermore, do you mean to say that the U.S. never signed the Geneva Convention Treaties? Is that why I had to study it endlessly before being shipped off to war? Do you even know why the Geneva Convention came about? Have you ever heard of the Hague Convention?

In my original post I said "dont bother arguing with me because you would allready be wrong" and yes, as I predicted, somebody came along feeling like they know it all because they have a cousin in the Rhode Island National Gurad or something like that who decided to argue. You are that person Living Ghost, and you are wrong. But thanks for irritating me and making me write this so I can stay up a little later and be tired at work tommorrow.

One more thing, without looking it up on wikipedia, do you even know what NATO stands for?

Yeah Bouncing Betties would be awesome. But I think claymores are ok for now. They need to be tweaked so that enemy snipers can pick them up, not just engies.
