I don't see why people are so excited. Alot of CS:S servers run this form of "co-op" gameplay. They're usually the servers that no one plays on. This would only be cool if you could add bots beyond the 64 player limit. Even then I don't get any satisfaction from killing AI opponents unless they're damn good like FEAR or Far Cry. BF2 definitly isn't in the same league.

It would be ok if the bots could outnumber your team 5:1.

We use to love playing co-op in BFV for some mindless killing with mates. No stress, wave after wave of bots coming in.

In BFV you could set a 10:1 ratio. We use to set it to 10:1 put them on expert and it was very hard. They were headshot killing machines and never stopped coming at you. I'm looking forward to co-op, something that should have existed from day 1.

I want to see something along a single player campaign. The maps are there already, adding a set of objectives (like taking which flag first) and a bunch of vehicles at each flag (again, easy coding), and some scripted events (for example, jet bombing at certain point), and you get a decent single player mission.

Yeah, I've heard a lot of people asking for a new game mod. Maybe that's the way to go... I personally prefere playing with real people. More satisfaction wether it's team work or sticking the knife in :)

This isn't really what I would I would call a new game mode... it's more like 'let's take something that is already unofficially in the game and call it official by adding an entry into the server browser to display the server'.

You could already do CoOp mode by giving your buddy your IP address while you are playing in SinglePlayer mode, then he can join in.

If I really had to grab for a guess, I would say your not going to get any other maps than what you already have for sp mode. I hope they disappoint me, but I would guess that it would be asking for a bit too much to have them give out truly 'real and new content' for free.

COOP is something that just should have been there from the begining. It was in vietnam and 1942. I don't think it should, or will be on ranked servers. I really want it to play lan games, sure you can use the sp1 16 mode but then you are stuck on the small maps, no planes or choppers. Playing at a small LAN 10-12 ppl on a 64 player map without bots makes for a lot of running around just trying to find someone too shoot, and playing 16 player karkand gets a little boring after awhile. through 30-40 bots and play some large map dragon valley or something, now that makes for a fun night.

- Capture the flag
- King of the hill
- Escort somone from one side to the other

But CO-OP is a great start though.

CO-OP is already in the game. It was from day one. Start a single player game and give your friend the server I.P that displays on the map loadup.

What am I missing here?

I guess now you can search servers that would be running the mode which will allow you to play with more people more often.

I used to fight against really leet bots on Rogue Spear, it was a mod that someone made, and it was not easy...

It was really fun, too.

Being apart of other multiplayer FPS games in the past, I have only this to say. Bots will be the beginning of the end for BF2.

I really don't see why you'd say something like this. BF1942 had it in the game THE WHOLE TIME and it was very popular and never was "the end" of anything.

Why are some people so opposed to having choices?
