Its a shame it didnt make it into the final build, I believe it had something to do with the fact that the BF2 engine cant handle vehicles ontop of vehicles so transporting vehicles on it would be pretty much impossible(although Im sure DICE could of found a work-a-round if they spent a little bit more time on it and didnt rush the release) :hmm:

yep...
and the dc version was just about like that one, except it had gun placements w/ 50 cals. and it kicked up spray when on the water and dust when it was on land. very fun running over multiple enemy with it also. :0)

it wasnt in the final build of BF2, I dont know weather ot not it will be in Desert-Conflict

oh yeah! it is a lot of fun too. it was the chopper i would run for, even if it was the enemy's. i would bail and still their bird. and the guns would eat up infantry like mad.

Another vehicle that was in Desert Combat, but only in some maps was an armoured car, I think it was the EE-9 Cascaval, a Brazilian manufactured vehicle that had been bought by Iraq. It was in a map that had the docks in it.

the lcac is in DC_F but was not included in any maps because the steering was never resolved. its possible to steer it - but very hard.

if you make a custom map or serverside mod a normal one - you can use it.

I don't know about people still playing it, but it was really really fun while people did.

They're not the same btw, DC had wayyyy more vehicles, more weapons.. I mean come on, guided SCUD missle? Hind-D with 48 dumbfire and a 20mm DU cannon?

A C-130 totalling 4 chainguns and a 120mm howitser?

DC > BF2 in almost all regards EXCEPT. EXCEPT the flying capabilities (and of course, squad functions etc but those are integral to the engine in question) ie helicopter you needed to keep tapping w just to hover. For me at least, dodging, maintaining height AND shooting became a task you betchya
