Knives and Pistol's !! Whats The Deal??

Could i ask a few poeples views on the " knives and pistol "servers where there are people killing and healing all day long is this considered stat padding or is it just people trying to get the most out of the game becuse me m8 says it reminds him of the old game goldeneye on nintendo 64 but i'm worried these severs are ruining the whole game ??
could you give me some feed back please from somewhere up high !!
by the way this is somwhat new to me ??silly question what deos bf2rs stand for ?

How can it ruin the game if you don't play on the server??? Having knife/pistol only servers have been around in the FPS realm for ever (Never played Goldeneye, by CS got em). They can be a fun change from the norm.

Should these server be ranked?...i don't know and don't really care that much if a couple of players out there want to pad up their stats on these server.

You should just worry about if your having fun or not, not worry about what other people are doing.

Its not really considered stat padding. If EA didn't like it they would stop the server. Change its settings etc

BF2RS stands for battlefield 2 ranked servers!

Basically it is a forums where they shut down or report servers for stat padding, and cheating glitching.

They believe in name and shame!

But i believe that a knife and pistol server is stat padding, it is a unfair advantage to gain points! but, at the end of the day, it doesnt effect my gaming, and they think they are really good at the game because of the knife kills and all that, but when they get into a real game, we just laff, cos they get owned! It's brilliant at times!

Knife and pistol servers or any server that limits what can be used is againist the ROE and should not be ranked, but there are some out there.

Knife and Pistol ranked servers are for lamers who have no skill. I got my basic knife and pistol badges on my first try on Karkand. No cheating needed.

For knife, just play as MEC and get to the bottom of the hill where USMC comes down. Get near the tree. As the blind USMC guys come down looking towards Hotel, just stab em! You can get lots of knife kills this way.

For Pistol, just throw your KDR to the wind that day and run around with the pistol, using the support kit, or assult kit, that is armored. I got my basic pistol badge on my first try by just not worrying about dying and attacking everyone with the pistol. Running into the USMC base and doing sneak attacks with the pistol helps.

You can also team up with a sniper. he gets a shot in a person, and you finish them off with the pistol. no need to cheat. Cheaters are losers.

It is just another way to play, i use to play when they were leagal, they can be alot of fun, and to the guy saying that all they do is revive well i guess yo u went to the wrong one, the ones i use to play on was a killing spree, yeah there was some medic, but they would last too long.

P.S. I didn't play there for my badges, i did it for fun.

It's very simple - the ranked servers depend on people to observe the rules so having a knife-pistol server is illegal and is very much cheating
not all servers are ranked so just play on those for your alternative gameplay

Doesn't really concern me, but some others might find it a problem:

"Oh look at me, I got the Expert Knife badge! I'm 1337!"

On a knife-pistol server he could have done that with 0 skill involved.

doesn't ruin the game for me, I don't go to them cause I don't want to take a chance on loosing my precious stats LoL.

however i feel they should be allowed. my logic is as follows, a 16 player ranked server running 64 player maps is legal and people use these to run around capping flags and scoring bigtime.

stealing the enemies airpower and armor is legal and people do it and when you have say on sharqi 2 ah's and 2 tanks and an apc pounding you those thiefs can easily score way high while their eney just dies enmasse.

ect ect ect

there are many legal inconsistancies out there stat padders use legally. so why not a server where you face others on equal terms...my feeling is competition would be fierce on these servers, i mean people can goto any server find a corner and knife/pistol stat pad...
