i dunno rp, but id say your best defense against knifers is the fact that youre always on the move, or appear to be in the screens.

really, VERY few spots are good to snipe at, one might be good for 4 seconds, but 10 seconds later its a ghost town, nobody there.

and i have to say, ive probably been knifed about 3 times in total, it aint very hard to tell when enemies are around... just check behind you every 4 minutes and youll be ok. try moving too!

also, were you standing up when you shot the humvee members? perhaps i need to try out the m95...

Well, on the move, of coarse. That's a given. I'm just talking about when a knifer does show up. I don't get many knife attempts on myself because I move around from spot to spot.

On the move at all times is very important.

One thing I did today was....

It was Sharqi. I set up position west of an enemy flag. I fired on enemies from down the road. Killed a few, so they knew where I was. I backed up, put a claymore in my original position, and ran further west. Jumped over a small wall, put a claymore behind it facing me (anyone who jumps the small wall will jump over the claymore and get hit from behind), and continued further west. My new snipe position is now further from my original snipe point. Enemies thinking I'm still in the same spot discover a claymore, and those who attempt to chase me down thinking I'm on the run jump over the small wall after me to meet the second claymore.

That's a trick you can often do. Backpedal sniping. Draw them towards your traps, and keep moving back. Even without claymores, they'll run to where you WERE to kill you, and whaddaknow, they just get shot from a position just a weee bit further than they expected.

Once you backpedal too far to be effective, you move on to a completely new spot.

hmm, maybe you could persuade DICE that claymores dont need to be magical intelligent invincible things for snipers to succeed....

its the bunny hopping claymore dispensers that annoy me, guys like you are great to play with. not nade whoring either i see heh.

I still say let kits difuse their own types of explosives. IE snipers difusing claymores (need to difuse from behind), and specops difusing c4.

Either that, or allow explosives to be spottable to your team knows where they are, and to allow engineers the better ability of finding explosives to disarm.

unfortunately, i think thats kind of stupid, as all trained troops could disarm explosives.

the entire game will turn into everybody is sniper, leaving claymores and diffusing claymores.

the game is not supposed to be just about diffusing and planting claymores.

why should it take 4 seconds to disarm something thats thrown down in a split second?

if it takes 4 seconds prone to disarm, it should take 4 seconds prone to arm and leave.

also, guns and explosives detonate it in real life, and they need to in bf2.

Well, I agree that they should be explodable. DICE just won't let that happen, so we gotta think up some more ideas about it.

Remember, this isn't a simulation. Right now, no one cept engineer is trained to disarm explosives. Also, if they are indeed made destroyable, I'd like to see the ability to disarm and re-locate your own personal explosives that you put down.

I thought kits difuse it's own explosives type would make sense seeing that they would natually know how to difuse their own explosives.

As for answering your question about the car, yes, I was standing up.

Well, it is my thread....but point taken

                  Back to sniping :p

One biggy: Try to stay away from high points such at rooftops. Those are the most obvious spots where snipers may hide. If they know you're about, the first thing they'll be looking at are the roofs of buildings.

also, claymores have to disppear when teammates go in their detonation radius.

you see, otherwise theyre invincible intelligent ladder guardians, and there goes the expert knife medal!

i need expert knife, but unless you wanna die 78 times in karkand trying to knife PKM whores, you need a few sniper knifes to get 18 in a round!

I wish that I was that good with the sniper kit. Granted I dont really play it anymore, but I should start to become as good as you. You have a good tactic going on there. Wish I could find guys to squad up with like that.

the sniper kit is indeed very usefull, it are only a bunch of noobs saying the kit is stupid and they use it only for the claymores .

                          still, very nice score!!!!!!

My best K/D is as a sniper. But I do nothing for me team when I'm a sniper beyond killing things. Estryark is the best sniper I've seen: he can bunny hop around, prone, and insta kill me before I even can fire. But we really don't need 50 snipers on one team. I miss the days of medic whoring =(

Well, if you want some fun, instead of running when a vehicle is driving at you....try using the m95 to take out the driver before you're pavement

Here's another driver kill. Notice where I am. I'm not on a roof, where most would go. I'm down below, hidden in the grass. About 15 vehicles passed me here, each time me spotting them and their direction for my team.

Here, an AT was trying to take out our chopper, so I sniped him. A medic then ran for him to revive, sniped him. Then a specops got in a car and started to drive past me, so I shot him through the glass just before he passed. Then I died from artillery

You'll notice that upon kills, I'm instantly aimed back at the "overall picture" to detect any movement...instead of staring at my kill for a few seconds.

The AT then medic first...notice the jeep to the left...soon to become active.

and then the driver kill just before he passes.
