Forgive me for not thoroughly re-reading all of the user's posts (since my last); but for those who are still having trouble this is just a reminder: Please remember to launch the game using DXTweaker's Start button (screenshot below). You press the Start button and DXT will launch the game.

If you use your own shortcut DXTweaker's settings wont take effect. Hey, I even made this mistake myself at first. :cry:... I'm just reminding new/old folk who are still having trouble.:)

i talk to who live in hungary but this guy is the most fustrating person ive
ever spoken to on a battlefield 2 forum.

pYura just give up and walk away im really supprised you can use a computer the things i and sauron have explained is incredibly easy to understand, if you disagree with it that is your loss not ours.

Make a new profile in DirectXTweaker. Take the exact same settings as for BF2, only change the thrid Arguments line to ""C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/xpack +ignoreAsserts 1". That's the only difference.

It didnt help in SF I think, I still have bad fps...

Question: I still have enabled VSyinc and tripple buffer in coolbits AND dxtweaker also... is it correct or is it make no difference....

You better be... cus I said I FUKIN UNDERSTAND THE REASON THAT BF2 IS NOT OPENGL AND COOLBITS CHALGES ONLY opengl so it works in doom3 and quake4. WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!! stuped haxxx!! at least it seems to be working -.-

Uhm... Why did you post about those 30fps then, if you know what the reason of the difference is? Whatever, leave it :) .

I have tested it again in Sharqi at the TV station (like in one of your screenshot-posts before)

VSyinc ON
-Coolbits: ~30fps
-DXTweak: ~45fps

I have 3200+AMD and 6800GT with 2gigs ram
I run the game in 1280x1024 resolution with medium high settings and 2xAA

what do you think?

You are making me tired, sorry.

Let me explain, Coolbits Triple Buffering settings doesn't effect Battlefield 2 AT ALL, NOT AT ALL, NOT NOT NOT. OK, point taken. Why? Well Coolbits Triple Buffering only effect games which use OpenGL, for example Doom 3 does.

Battlefield 2 though uses Direct3D. DirectXTweaker (yes did you notice the "direct" in both?) can enable Triple Buffering for Battlefield 2... Wonderful so far isn't it?

So with Coolbits there is NO Triple Buffering in Battlefield 2, with DirecXTweaker there is Triple Buffer in Battlefield 2.

Ok, point taken?

VSync without Triple Buffering gives you (on 60Hz) either 60 or 30 or even lower FPS, hardly any fluctuations just a frozen 30 FPS mainly. That's what you noticed when using Coolbits, again... Coolbits didn't effect Battlefield 2, so you had VSync without Triple Buffering at that point, so a frozen FPS of 30 exactly (why VSync synchronizes and makes it when unable to use 60FPS half of 60Hz is 30 FPS).

Though Triple Buffering buffers the frames before it shows them and with VSync that therefore results in some more FPS, no more frozen 30FPS anymore. And DirectXTweaker is the tool that allows us to use Triple Buffering in Direct3D games, like Battlefield 2 is and when using VSync that is as I said good.

I did use a lot of irony, but I really hope this explains it to you.

Personally I did lose some FPS when using VSync ofcourse, but no more frozen FPS thanks to Triple Buffering, it's just if you want the tearing graphics OR no VSync. VSync will still cost you some FPS ofcourse, but less than when having a frozen FPS of 30 all the time.

Are you sure that you checked, and highlighted the field called "Present Changer", and then entered a "2" in in the modules settings properties box for the Backbuffer "Count" field?
What kind of video card are you using, and what is your driver version?

What I did was: I installed the Tweaker, put in the BF2 moduls and arguments. Then I put the settings as in the 1st page help says and then run the game. Got nearly the same results as I described above.

It's the maximum ~60 fps but it drops dramatically in action, doesn't happen without V-Sync.

@Cambridge, are you sure you did it properly, since 30 and 60 FPS describes exactly how VSync works without Triple Buffering enabled.

Tried this just a few minutes ago. Didn't actually help me. I got a steady fps of 60 but in excessive combat it dropped below 30 as well. My fps doesn't go that low without this tweak. So atleast for now = won't be using this.
