Actually every drive that has come from ATI for BF2 has been loosing performance, a frame here and there, ATI shadows AA is crap, and what's wrong with using drivers to make up for supposobly bad hardware??? well ATI can do the same, if they have GOOD hardware they should be able to surpase Nvd with just drivers then???, Come on guys, they are both great cards

I agree with most of u. But ur idle temp is HOT (hotter than my load temp), but ur load temp is amazingly low considering how close it is to idle. I get 30C idle, and like 45C load, all stock cooling. If ur wondering why, i don't know, but that's what everest AND ATI TOol say, i think it's good airflow, my case has good airflow, also, i dust gun all the heatsinks every month or two.

eh its not that hot, my X850XT got hotter on full load, my load temp is so close because the X1800's fan speed changes every couple of degrees so it kicks in (I can't hear it over my case but ATI's tool reports it) and keeps it under 60

My advice is just keep the fan on 100% all the time, that's what i do, that+airflow in case+dust gun every month or so.

yeah I gave that a try, temps are down about 3* all the time.

Ya, ATi beats every single one of their counterparts from nvidia stock besides teh X1800XL (non OCed) and 7800GT, and of course teh GTX 512, that's in a class of it's own. But other cards, like teh X800XL and teh X850XT beat their nvidia counterparts (that would be the 6800GT/GS and 6800Ultra respectively) in BF2.

actually stock the XL beats the 7800GT at 1600
and by what you say NV really sucks cuz obviously BF2 was optimized for their hardware yet it performs worse

I was talking about 1280x1024, cause that's the resolution that i play on . But if we wana talk about higher resolutions, then that's true.

Ya, u need a 20 inch screen or larger to play on 1600x1200, and that's not widescreen, widescreen is like 1920x1080 lol.
