the 512 GTX, can you buy one... no, is it priced anywhere NEAR any of the other cards... no. Oh no the X1800 XT loses by .7 FPS, i guess the 260 dollar prenium on the 7800 GTX 512 is really worth it. pwned I don't understand why review sites still bench at 1024, i mean who would buy a 7800/X1800 for 1024 (1280 makes sense, standard LCD rez).

the only thing pwned by nvidia is your wallet(w/ their high end cards, their mid end pwns) and your eyes.

In my opinion, Nvidia has the worst support. At least ATI has monthly video driver updates. Not only that there are several ATI modded drivers as well. As for Nvidia..... not many modded drivers. Omega barely supports Nvidia that is why he stopped doing them. The only modded Nvidia drivers i know are the NGO and the Dhzer0points.

Well I have a Gecube Radeon x700 256 mb. Give me the money and I'd go Nvidia. But personally I do pefer Ati support. Both brands offer good cards however some prefer Ati, some don't and would rather go Nvidia, Various reasons.

Too bad for me I didn't know much about parts when I got my custom pc, Intel and a x700.
From what I've seen from lower range Ati cards, people changing to Nvidia have better performance however Ati does offer a good card in the high ranges, just that it's not too popular.

lmao. Geez get all upset when someone supports ATI, protected against future enhancements lol, also, your card doesn't "own" mine as it costs 100+ dollars more and I guarantee you i can run every game you do at the same rez w/ just as high image settings. Crappy X1800 XL, HAHAHAHA my friend actually offered his GTX for this thing after seeing how much nicer the colors and IQ were on my card, and in BF2 my card is only about 1-2 fps slower then his OCed GTX (490/1.27). Thanks for pointing out i have ATI (no sh*t why would i keep saying how they're a better choice and then buy an nvidia), now i have a new argument OMFG YOU HAVE NVIDIA NO WONDER!!!!

Re: bye bye ATI hello Nvidia

Wow, no offense, but way too many people like nvidia. So i ask this question out to all, if u could have either one, the X1800XT, or the 7800GTX 256mb and they were both at the same price, which would u get? I'm just trying to find out who here is a fanboy. Anyways back on to topic, who needs 100fps, nobody at all, no reason to buy GTX512mb except for bragging rights. Personally, i like playing games at high quality, but spending 600+ dollars for a GPU is way over, my PC cost under 1000 bucks, a 600+ dollar GPU is more than 3/5 of my whole rig's price. U guys need to think about saving money instead of bragging rights on a forum, cause those bragging rights don't go far against people like me.

EDIT: Oh, and ya, ATi has way better support like said, new drivers every month, two new drivers this month. Anyways, most of the guys who defend nvidia own nvidia cards themselves, look, don't contridict urselves when accusing people defending ATI when they own ATI cards, cause if u own a nvidia card and u defend nvidia, ur just as guilty of defending what u have. Look, i'm no fanboy over here, i'm just saying, ATi isn't NEARLY as bad as some people say it is, they are facing some tough times since they got their cards out like 3-4 months later than nvidia, but there not like totally dead.

Nvidia don't have driver updates quite as often because they don't need them. I don't remember the last time I saw a problem with Nvidia's drivers. If there are any, they're probably at a 1:10 ratio with ATi drivers.

I would get the 7800GTX over the X1800XT if they were the same price. Why? Cooler, and SLI-capable. I haven't seen any ATi X1800XT Crossfire Master Cards cards...

Actually, yes, his card Does OWN yours. If you friend offered you his 7800GTX then either he's a retard, or you're a liar (I think both). There is no way an OC'd X1800XL will keep up with an OC'd 7800GTX. A OC'd X1800XL would have trouble keeping up with an OC'd 7800GT...

You're arguing with the card you have. If you had a X700Pro or something, then your comments would hold more water. I have a 6600GT and I'm talking about 7800s. You have a X1800XL and you're talking about X1800s. See the difference? Get informed. And for god's sakes, we don't need any more comments about your stupid friend.

Well, i meant single card, not SLi, but u got a good point, i don't see many crossfire cards, plus i just hate dual slot cooling, if i were to get dual slot cooling, i would get a VF-700-CU, best GPU cooler IMO.

Um, ya, like 5 % of the people here say ATi is better, right now, look through this whole thread, try to see anybody except for him, and me that have actually justified ATi lol.

I didn't ask if you COULD afford one, im saying go find an e-tailer that has one in stock. Oh and flanker look at this from the 3d mark thread someones OCed7800GT OCed w/ a better processor score http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1442734

                          my X1800XL w/ worse processor score http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1608353

yeah the 7800GT really pwns. ATI has driver updates because they tweak their card to get more performance, I and NO ONE i know personally has had to roll back a driver because of problems. Yes NV pwns ATI at dual card, but give crossfire a generation like NV has and I'm sure ATI will have a much more reasonable dual card solution. Oh and I did say the X1800 pwned when i had an X850 XT, but when money came around I bought one, and now that my card has met my expectations and even in (BF2's case) surpassed them, now my opinion doesn't count. See you say get informed, well I am I've read the reviews I've used a 7800 and X1800 and the X1800 is better, the reason NV is so supported is cuz right now so many people have their cards, ATI's major screw up was releasing their cards 5 months after NV, most people didn't wait for ATI and got a 7800, i waited till ATI came out w/ a card to dish out the dough. Your point about me having an X1800 proves my point exactly. Everyone has a 7800 cuz it came earlier, I read benchmarks and overclocking forums and made my decision on numbers not what every 7800 GT owner said, and now w/ 2 options available ATI is again a very good option. I got an X1800 (I was so close to getting a BFG 7800 GT) because I saw how well it overclocked, 2 months later due to driver releases the X1800 is neck and neck w/ a 7800 stock and OCed is fast as hell w/ almost 15-20 fps gains in some cases.

I skipped the last paragraph of your post because I saw you were comparing 3DMark05 scores. You're stupid. How much of an ATi fanboy can you be to still compare 3DMark scores? EVERYONE knows that 3DMark05 is ATi-biased, and that crap ATi cards score higher than most better Nvidia cards in it. I could explain, but it probably wouldn't make much sense to you.

                              Ok fine
ATI does better in 3, Nvidia does better in 3, wheres the pwnage

the XT beats the 256 GTX 6/7 times and even pulls ahead of the superior and much more expensive 7800 512 twice.

                              ATI wins in games too.

The X1800XT got ahead in ONE of 7 games. And that was FEAR, an ATI game. Thats like comparing ATi and Nvidia in HL2...

The pwnage comes when you can overclock the 7800GTX and 7800GT to amazing speeds, while the X1800XL and X1800XT are too hot to be overclocked. I don't really care what you say. Everyone knows that they are crazy hot, and that they're a pain to overclock on stock cooling.
