Save yourself some cash - buy a 6800GT 256 AGP from Ebay, overclock it and see 6800 Ultra performance.
Or id you don't wanna buy it from ebay, i reccomend getting the 6800gt from newegg, and from ATi, teh X800GTO2, as it can unlock pipes and flash to X850XTPE. Or if u don't want the danger of flashing a card, u could always get a X800XL which would still be a very good card.
Are u serious? WOw, that's unusual, cause i've seen ati cards beat their nvidia counterparts in vietnam and BF2. Maybe it's just because the X850XTPE is newer and overall better, but i dunno.
Yes ATI does beat Nvidia for BF series even though it's optimized for Nvidia. It's because ATI is better at D3D games. BF has very poor support for ATI cards.

yeah, i know about that, nvidia is betterfor open gl, ati is better for direct 3d. Anyways, for jackass, i have a link, problem is that the 6800ultra is in there, i would say compare the X800XL and 6800GT instead to show results: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...ames-2005.html
I'm not going to OC. Maybe I'm missing a lot which I've heard a lot of times before. But there's no way I'm going to OC my components.
On the X-bit laps benchmarks the nVIdia cards are good at higher resolutions (1280x1024, 1600x1200) and the ATi cards are better in lower resolutions (1024x768)
So.. If the option is between 7800GS, 6800Ultra and X850XT PE.
