x850xt gets my vote if you dont really care about price due to it being the fastest card

but if you want to save some cash get the 6800gt its 15% slower at most than the x850xt

Well...if you can find a 6800U for a good price, I say grab it. Rumor has it that a 6800GS AGP is coming out, but not confirmed. I'm personally nvidia biased, but if you can find a good price for either x850XT or 6800U, then you're fine with either card.

7800GS doesnt exist - it was mainly a engineering sample for testing only. With G72's/G73's (aka 7600/7200) next quarter with a very slim (repeat: slim) chance with a AGP varient out, I hella doubt a 7800GS would fit in really. Of course, I could be hella dead wrong...but explain the 6200's for PCI for crying outloud lol...

I will next time I play (later tonight) I run everything on high 1280x1024 with 4xAA I get about 60-70FPS rarely lower. I'm also slightly OC'd. I would recommend if you're going to get the X850XT PE to get ArticCooling Silencer Rev. 5 as its much better then the original heatsink that comes on the card.

Um, 20 mhz higher core clock speeds, and 100mhz higher memory clock speeds. IT brings in a bit more FPS as a result.

Yeah, and BF2 says right on the box that with a 6800 series card or better you should be able to run everything on high settings. Listen, Nvidia just plain and simply makes a higher quality card than ATI. There is a 7800GTX 512 MB card out right now that outperforms anything that ATI has on the market. If you're trying to run this game, Doom 3, Quake 4, FarCry, etc., go Nvidia. Even the guys at Id admit that Nvidia cards run their games better than ATI cards.

I almost don't know what to do.. X850XT PE, X850XT, 6800Ultra, 6800GT.

I'm not going to overclock and please don't tell me what to do about upgrading to PCI-e.

What is the differents between XT PE and just XT. And Ultra and GT?

What's mostly different about the 6800 series and the 850 series is shader model 3. Which really isn't a big deal yet, but within the next 2 years every game will have shader model 3. The next little difference is the clock of the core's and memory. I say little because all can be equal if they are clocked right.
The order of clock is xt pe, ultra, xt, gt. However, the architecture of the 6800 and 850 is very different. THEY ARE ALL VERY GOOD CARDS.

The gt and xt aren't that different. At this point, just go with personal preference. If you're a fanATIc, then get the x850. If you're an nvidiot, get the 6800 (gt or ultra).
