Total ******** it only bottle necks if you are running it in 3dmark in games its fine trust me i have a 3500+ not OC and its fine!!!

Just got OCZ 2GB Plat kit, and now I can run 1600x all high flawlessly~~~


have problem with divider so now i'm running everything at stock
3000+ @ STOCK!! still absoultly runs perfectly

Don't get odd amounts of ram with an AMD. It lowers performance. Buy a matched pair of 1GB sticks. I disagree with your CPU being a bottleneck. You have good speeds with it so it's fine. Just up your memory and see how that goes.

it's battlefield 2 man, this consumes tons of memory, this is why the first ten min he can't play very good.

He has everything high , meaning the system has to load tons and tons of textures in the ram , wich is in his case to low.

the CPU is a bottlenech , be shure of that, .

My system is a 4000+ with 2gig of RAM and a 7800GTX on it.

When I first started playing, everything on high AA4x , everything goes very well, but on very crowded places my FPS started to drop (never under 40FPS).

Then I rased my 4000+ from 2.4 to 2.6Ghz , played again, FPS never comes under 55-60, meaning my CPU was bottleneching my system (the power of the 7800 is enorm, wich means you need a beast behind it) .

Then I started rasing my Vid card, now it runs on 490/1350 (has a non standard DUAL slot cooler on it) and my FPS gain in BF2 was only like 5FPS, then the drops never went below 60, meaning my CPU was still bottleneching me .

Can't rase the CPU more because my mem isn't so good and it can't keep up (4000+ has locked multiplier so I can't go higher then 12) .

In his case two gig of ram is no problem with an AMD but he has to stick with only two modules, not four, in my case I do use four with my AMD because I have a san diego core, wich has a better memory controler

But I do have to say, in overal in the game the FPS is just at it's locked limit, about 100FPS

RAM is your problem for starting.

CPU is your bigger problem, your CPU is an extrme bottleneck for a 7800GTX , realy many reviewers said you need at least an 3800+ or higher for a 7800GTX

A 3800 is only 2.4 hes @2.6.

Maybe install the latest drivers? You should be fine with that setup.

You have to start increasing the HTT. (And you need to become a member of ocforums.com)

it's your FSB (Front side bus) that is the clock for your CPU speed, this in combination with the multiplier.

Multiplier x FSB = CPU Frequency !

FSB = 200 standard, is the frequency of your RAM, but it's DDR so it's 400

Because my memory can't handle more then 430 like it's running now, I should be able to rase the multiplier, so I could keep the 200hz from the FSB but for example use 13x or even 14x 200 , so my CPU would run on 2.6 or even 2.8Ghz. without my memory running at very high speeds.

And FYI , the FX series of AMD have an unlocked multiplier, this is why those are the tools for the hardcore overclockers , you can even set the multipier on 24 if you like (wich nowbody does)

and about the HTT, this is standard on 5x , you can't rase that and for OC ing you better lower it to 4x or 3x

Yes you are and it's called a memory divider. Example below:

CPU: 240 x 12 = 2880mhz
Mem: DDR333/6:5 divider = DDR400mhz
HTT: 240 x 4 = 960mhz

We've been through this enough. Until you get SLI your GPU is the bottleneck, or if you play at really low resolutions with no AA and AF.

RAm is good, but i can run settings on max (1280x1024, all high, 6xaa, and 16xaa) on my X800XL in this game with only 1 gb of ram. It has been proven for ONLY BF2, that CPU doesn't matter much, the difference between a 3000+ and a FX-57 is less than 1fps, but this is ONLY FOR BF2, as BF2 only really cares about ram and vid card if you already have over recommended settings. Maybe you don't have the newest drivers from nvidia. Go to nvidia and download the newest drivers.

I have an X800 XT Platinum, and I can't run all on high. I have 2GB of PQI DDR-4 PC-32000 RAM, and an AMD 64 3500+ Winchester 939, with a WD Raptor 74GB S-ATA HD, and Audigy 2 ZS Sound Card. If I turn everything up to high, I get 20fps, and it studders constantly! Any suggestions?
