7800GTX not enough for all high????

just upped to 7800gtx few days ago and I'm having problem
i'm running res 12xx x 1xx(or 9xx i forget.. very last one on 12xx list)
all maxed + 4x AA

first 5~10 min of the new map load is totally unplayable
after that once in a while, too often, it freezes for few seconds
I dont belieave 7800gtx can't handle this setting... or not?

Get 2X1GB of RAM and you should be fine. I have everything maxed with an X800Pro that is barely OCed. I have a X2 4400+ @ 250X11 though. I still believe it's your "limited" RAM.

RAM is your problem for starting.

CPU is your bigger problem, your CPU is an extrme bottleneck for a 7800GTX , realy many reviewers said you need at least an 3800+ or higher for a 7800GTX

Yea, you need AT LEAST 1.5 GB of RAm, 2 would be great! :)

Then get a new CPU, or try and OC'it a bit more, then you will get more out of ur Vid Card.

my cpu is already running faster than 3800+, unless you are talking about X2 3800+...

I have Opteron 146 coming hopfully that will hit near 3ghz... now gotta start looking for 2gb rams...:cry:

Don't get odd amounts of ram with an AMD. It lowers performance. Buy a matched pair of 1GB sticks. I disagree with your CPU being a bottleneck. You have good speeds with it so it's fine. Just up your memory and see how that goes.

Im getting phenominal performance out of my 7800GTX:
All settings high
1280x1024
4xAA
8xAF

On 2 gigs OCZ Platinum RAM and an AMD 4000+

You should be getting almost perfect performence but the "stuttering" at the beginning, you DO need 2 gigs to get this game going ALL high.

RAm is good, but i can run settings on max (1280x1024, all high, 6xaa, and 16xaa) on my X800XL in this game with only 1 gb of ram. It has been proven for ONLY BF2, that CPU doesn't matter much, the difference between a 3000+ and a FX-57 is less than 1fps, but this is ONLY FOR BF2, as BF2 only really cares about ram and vid card if you already have over recommended settings. Maybe you don't have the newest drivers from nvidia. Go to nvidia and download the newest drivers.

More ram. Grab another 1gb kit and you'll be set. Check your drivers and optimize your system at the same time =)

If you fill all four banks of that board with ram your board will revert to a 2T Command rate.

Total ******** it only bottle necks if you are running it in 3dmark in games its fine trust me i have a 3500+ not OC and its fine!!!

2gb of ram will sort your problem!!!
