Ooooh Me too. I wonder how many people have done the same thing but never installed the drivers, thus getting barely anything from their rig! I almost recommend a sticky just to remind people to update all found on their Mobo CD.

okay i changed my p4 3.6 processor for a hefty FX57 and get over 3000 more with my score now at 12700

But where is your ORB ?

Ive got the same set up (near as) as you, but with an FX-55.

My score 11'980 at core with a 420w PSU. :p

When you test for real, take 1GB of RAM out. You'll improve.

Question about OC'ing my gfx card... RivaTuner won't let me put the clock speed past 490 (when I press the "Test" button it says something and won't let me do it). I see ppl with 6600's and 6800's with clock speeds past 500, why won't my 7800GTX go to 500+? However, when I see my ORB for 3DMark05, it said my clock speed and GPU memory speed were different than what I had set them to, i.e. it said my clock was 518 and my mem was 1237. I don't get it .

Also, will I get a higher score if I take out two sticks of RAM and test with only 1GB in there? That doesn't make sense to me because you get better FPS in games with more RAM, but people say run benchmarks with 1GB.

I'm lost when it comes to these things

My 6800GT will get artifacts past 430 core clock, and I have an upgraded copper HSF from Zalman. 500 is crazy high, try the coolbits registry change and you can change stuff based on your system. Most overclocking tools will set a reasonable ceiling for your clockspeed. Reguardless, you should be able to play any game out today with max settings and a frame rate above that of your refresh rate... so I don't see the point of wearing down your card even more.

Dude you should get around 9000 man! I got slimilar score with my setup. You got correct drivers?

I have 77.72 drivers. Anything past that and I can't play my favourite game, MOHAA Spearhead. :hmm:

Using the free version at default settings I get 5220 with the following specs, all at stock speeds:

Athlon 64 San Diego 3700+
1GB PC3200 dual channel RAM
Asus A8N-E mobo
Sapphire Radeon X800XL 256MB PCI-E

Pretty decent score judging by how other similar systems here have performed. :)

5839 with sig below. 2 gigs of ram is the only real difference, but your CPU is better... weird.
