yeah I agree...600MBs is really too high.... I'd be killing off some services or finding another anti-virus if thats the big puller. To be honest...anything on Vista or even XP over 400MB's is too high.Comment

what?? Doesn't make no difference even if you have 16GB of Ram... the OS is still using too much!!
FYI for anyone else waiting on it to come straight from Microsoft:
Microsoft will release Windows Vista Service Pack 1 next week to a wider audience, according to information posted on Amazon.com and reports from a Web site that correctly called SP1's ship date last month.
Amazon currently lists Vista SP1 retail copies as available next Wednesday, March 19, while TechARP.com, the Malaysian Web site that nailed the update's release to manufacturing (RTM) date several days early, said users would be able to download SP1 starting Tuesday, March 18.Comment

Unless what I posted isn't true or Microsoft delays it again..then yes sometime mid day you should see it on "Windows Updates" ....do a manual search don't wait on the automatic to pull it down unless you want to wait a few more weeks.
If it doesn't happen tomorrow pm meComment

wow 4 pages later ...
id say this was a topic to be discussed...
FYI my xp runs at desktop 99.00 megs of ram with bitdefender av, and windows blinds.
total of 15 processes..
with out av ...
67.5 sumthing megs of ram on desktop..
so in saying that ...
swiching from xp to vista and its given 600 megs of ram at desktop...
THAT IS A HUGE DIFFRENCE!!!Comment
