And you could justify that extra cost to get 40-50fps on Crysis?

I seem to think your motherboards second PCI-E slot is only 8x?

3 way SLI seouls worse than 2 way. Not worth the money, just save up for the 10 series or a whole new comp in the future. I wonder how'll Nvidia will name them? 10800GTX? Or will they have a new scheme?

Go ahead by all means as long as you give me permission to paint "LOL" all over your house in luminous paint when I get a card that does exactly the same job for a quarter of the price six months down the line. SLi is just a waste of money- you pay 100% more for a 25-50% increase in performance.

 That's what it comes down to.

Using two 8800's doesn't give the power of one 8800 time 2. Crossfire, I believe works much better, but of course, as far as individual cards go, the 8800 still wins.

IMO, ATI would/might be the betterway to go if you really want to use two cards, but only in that case.

nah i am not dragging this thread into gfx warz, i am merely suggesting that go with "Who Dares Wins" thats all, sure u can go sli but i see it as a waste of $$$, a gtx or ultra hell even a GTS-512 would do for now, but i heard a lot of good reviews from ati's 3*** and am waiting to hear more bout the 4*** thats all.

lol sorry i didnt mean it like that:p i know ur not dragging it into a GPU war.. i was just stating that so no one else started to argue about it

and yeah the ATI's are good but i just bought this current GTX about 1.5 months ago so i would rather SLI another GTX than lose about $500 on the one i have to go for a different card...

as for it not being much of an improvement i tend to disagree.. when it comes to high end gaming pcs.. 30-50% performance increase is ALOT!.. but thats a matter of opinion and what people justify worthy of the amount it costs.. but for me personaly i think spending $600 on a gpu that will give me performance increase is worth it :) even if it is only 30-50%
