Remember, intelligent design is not connected with a specific religion.

I believe in (micro) evolution, but I think we still have to consider the fact that many parts of evolution are no more provable than Islam or Christianity. We can speculate they might be true, but we don't have any evidence on the creation of the universe or life whether it be a big bang, primordial soup, or dust.
No religion should be indoctrinated with science as a fact.
I like the idea of tolerance.

how can you prove there was evolution? how can you prove there wasnt creation? I'm a christian and i believe in creation, it's the way i was raised, i've been going to the same baptist church my whole life.

        Re: The "Random Thoughts" Thread

Sigh, I agree with you jake, tolerance is a godly attribute in it's own right.

Anyway, how come no one ever asks people to prove creation happened?

You can find evidence of evolution by looking at fossils, they are concurrent with the theory (remember folks theory does not mean just a dumb guess, not the scientific meaning anyway) of evolution, maybe not irrefutably, but definitely more so then creationism.

People can believe what they want, but it sickens me that in this day and age people want to put the theories that don't even follow the laws of physics like "Animals exist because god thought about it and poof!" next to sensible theories like evolution.

I'm buddhist, but I'm not gonna try and make reincarnation into scientific theory.

Now, before I'm depicted as the bad guy in this, that doesn't mean that scientists can't believe in a religion (like jake said, many of the greatest scientific minds were christian), just that they shouldn't mix it into their work. It's downright irresponsible, like a immigration official not giving green cards to middle eastern people just because he doesn't like muslims.

I don't disagree with Evolution because "the bible says so" at all, as a matter of fact, there's the bible isn't a scientific book and isn't meant for that purpose, at least to a Christian.

I only question evolution because I question everything. I'm a cynic and a pessimist. Socrates is my hero. :p

Also, I only disagree with macroevolution because it isn't really documented, we can only speculate. I have no complaint with microevolution and a lot of other basic ideas within the theory. :)

eidt: this is fun: a calm conversation about evolution.

              I'm a Christian too.

You really have to study it all very closely. Separate truth from speculation. There's always some truth in everything.
