    BF2 Demo error

    Hello everyone,

Lately i searched the web for solutions on a error i remain getting when i launch the BF2 Demo (I launch the demo by clicking on the icon, i get the splash screen, then the screen turns black and then i get this error). I didn't found any so i decided to post a new thread about it...

The error says this: (I attached a screenshot)

    BF2 (v1.0.2446.12, pid: 3784): BF2.exe - Ongeldig beeld

De toepassing of DLL-bestand C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3dx9_25.dll is geen geldige Windows-kopie. Controleer dit op uw installatiediskette.

    Translated:

    BF2 (v1.0.2446.12, pid: 3784): BF2.exe - Invalid image

    The application or DLL-file C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3dx9_25.dll isn't a valid Windows-copy. Check this on your installation-disc.

My computer has the following build:

    Microsoft Windows XP
    Home Edition
    Version 2002
    Service Pack 2

    Intel (R)
    Pentium (R) 4 CPU 2.60 GHz
    Clockspeed: 2,59 GHz, 1,00 GB

Can someone please help me with this issue?

    Greetz,

    Jefta Mulder

Are you using a pirate copy of Windows, BF2 or any other program?

      Nope...

      I have a legal Windows, it's a BF2 Demo so it's free and i don't think i got any other pirate copies.

If you are using a pirated copy of Windows XP, I highly recommend going out and buying an official copy. As that certain dll is known to be something you really wouldn't want it to be along with many other dll and executables, that cannot be detected by antivirus because the whole system is a rouge system.

If you are using a legitimate copy then download and install directx again:

My Windows is legal, so i have to reinstall direct x? Is there anything that can happen if i do that? Like that my system crashes or something?

If you turn your computer off half way through installation, then, yes.

            Otherwise, no.

                  Hello everyone!

I downloaded the DirectX Redist and extracted the d3dx9_25.dll file, i placed it in the system32 map and then i restarted my pc. After that i launched the BF2 Demo again but it still doesn't works... I click on the icon, get a black screen and after that i get back at the desktop..
