Your experience w/gaming mouses

I'm considering getting a higher end gaming mouse. Perhaps the Razer Copperhead or the Logitech one.

They are wired, with better Ms response time and higher resolution and what have you...

I was hoping I might get the opinion of people that own such mice as to how all that tech jargon bears out. Does it FEEL defferent? Has the purchase of a said mouse improved your game?

Any other input hardware you like?

I have had a few .. a Logitech X700 wireless ertup .. that went out the door .. dead batteries suck

Got an MX518 and loved it .. then got a G5 and went back to my MX518 after a few days ... can't beat it

I got used to the 2 side buttons and the G5 only has one .. if you like the extra functionality of the 2 thumb buttons, you simply cannot go wrong with the 518 .. there is DPI adjustment on the fly too. You can go fast to spin a turret , then jump out and slow down a bit when ground pounding....even a little slower for sniping

I have a little logtech mouse and it seems to work ok. Does a mouse like the
MX518 really make a difference. Does anyone use a joystick for this game or can u only use a mouse. i see some people flying mainly jets and it would seem they are using a joystick.

I agree, I have a MX518, and it does all the needed stuff. An on the fly adjustment for DPI (like being able to change the speed that you can turn the gun turret, You can go from moving the mouse 2 inches and getting a quarter turn to, with the same 2 inch movement of the mouse, one half or a full turn) and you have 2 programable buttons on the side (for jets I have flares and afterburners set there, for ground pounding its the main weapon and knife). Its just an amazing piece of equipment for the price. There may be a better mouse but not at a reasonable price like the 518. Another good feature is that its about the same size as a standard mouse, so there is no adjustment there. . . . . . . .Red

I have a MX510 that is great. The only thing I dont like about the new G5, is that it only has one button on the side. I use both buttons on my 510 for VOIP to squad and commander....

I had used a 20$ mouse for cs for years.. then asked for a MX 500 when they first came out for christmas.

Got one.. and it totally changed my game for the better. Optical mice are ALWAYS better then ball mice.

Wired are always better then WIRELESS.. because nothing sucks more then the batteries dieing mid fight.

Trust me... if you have a job.. do a little over time and get a logitech.

Go for MX500 or MX518. Its a WORLD of diffrence... trust me. Specially if your like me and dont want to blame your mouse as to why you missed your target etc etc.

If you want... go out and buy a cardboard "fiber" board. You can get them at any local hobbie shop that sells arts and crafts.

I bought a 2 foot square pad.. and after about a year.. flipped it over and now use its backside. Basically.. if gives you 2 feet of room to move your mouse around. Makes for PERFECT aiming. Total cost of board... like 5$ for 2.

As long as you have the room on your desk / table... get one. Nothing is worse then owning a 100$ mouse and trying to play on a piece of pad that is 8 inches by 12 inches.

Go for the BOARD and MOUSE !!!! Youll love it.

I just got the Logitech G5 and its just awsome Aiming my G36C for those long distant kills is soo smooth. i was using a MX1000 and it was just a bit heavy for gaming. On top ofthat switching DPI's on the fly is nice.

Yes i know it only has that 1 button on the side but the way my keys are set i dont need 50 mouse buttons. My side button is my sprint button and my voice coms is Voice avtivate so no need for a button.

I have a G5 and it's awesome. Never tried the mx518, but the G5 is amazing. Once I got used to it I couldn't use my old mouse for BF2 at all. Plus my accuracy is like 30% overall.

I got a x7, some 5 button mouse with on the fly dpi setting , highest is 2000dpi. I would like to say it's pretty good, I tried dod for the first time in along time, and I thought my garand was on crack. lol

Love this thing very good mouse. Very smooth action and perfesct weight. Only draw back is battery life. It comes with 2 batterys they last for about 4 hrs of game play.

MS Optical Trackball Explorer. Best Trackball I have ever used. May not be as fast as the laser mice but It's smoothe and I usually hold my own on the field with it. Nice button layout too. We just need MS to update it to laser tech and it would be uber. Use one and its tough to go back to a regular mouse.

I own a Razer Copperhead & the Razer ExactMat... combine both of these and you have one deadly gaming utility:evil:
The ExactMat has two sides; one for control and one for speed. I use control in BF2 and speed in CS... works like a charm!
