Iam very sorry, but everyone looking for a really good mouse is buying the razor Copperhead. I had all Logitech Mouse-products and none of these were as good as the the Copperhead. The Diamondback is also better than every Logitech product.

I had an MX500 optical mouse, it was very accurate and COMFORTABLE. After 3 years of heavy gaming (and beating the poor thing ) it sometimes turn itselff off... no matter I bought a G5 recently and all that I can say that its perfect... I use all 6 buttons on it during playing and the 2 extra to get faster or slower mouse movemant.
Max DPI 2000. Laser technology. Cant beat it.....

btw: Razor has very good mousese too but I found them unconfortable but its just matter of hand type I guess...

logitech mx 1000 laser mouse is the best for games - its wireless but has equal performance to a wired mouse, so no getting the wire snagged on the corner of your key board.

The mx 1000 is also a lot cheaper and has more buttons than any other mouse (a total of 9) which I have mapped to various actions such as quick throw grenades, plant c4, reload, enter vehicle, commo rose, switch to knife & pistol, switch kit

I use the MS 5 button optical trackball mouse and untill recently it was great.I wore it out playing BF2 and now I can't find another one.

This man is absolutely right. I use an MX518 and it's one of the best mouses I have ever used. It's responsive and smooth, feels great, plus it's good looking!

You are totally right, just go into a good big store and test all the mouses they got!! You must find the perfect mouse for your hand.

What was your problem with the Logitech? Wich onen are you compering to your Copperhead?

I don`t gotta problem with Logi-stuff. Tested the mx 500, the mx 510 and 518 and also the g5 but I find out that I need a more agressive mouse-design. I can't describe it: every gamer has to test different mouses ^^.

The MX1000 is not for gaming... It has a big disadvantage: it has an inbuilt safety system that TURNS OFF the laser when you pick up the mose. When you put it down it turns back on but its needs time to do that. The G series didnt do that and they are deign for G(aming) got it?

Hehe, I know it's very diffcult to understand..
I tested the g5 and thought: wow! it's really confortable.
But when I played the razor-utilities I discover that I'm able to argue much faster because the razor mouses are better to move. But that's only my oppinion: as I said: every gamer has to test a lot of mouses to find out what's the perfect one for him!

The G5 is the best. The on the fly sensitivity changing makes it so you can be deadly from long range.

I managed to break two logitechs in 3 years, so I got a Copperhead and am really pleased with it. Shape of the mouse is way different than Logitech ones (though I really like it being symmetrical), so it took awhile getting used to .. but now, it's just amazing.

I can't say which mouse is best, they're all good enough. Rest is about personal preference, how it fits in your hand and whether you like the whistles and cowbell it comes with.

Logitech G5, or if you can't affort a previous generation Logitech like the MX518. But I suggest to spend the money for a G5, you won'y regret it.

I have the MX510 and I wouldn't give up the buttons on it for any mouse. In fact, I think there can be at least two more very easily accessibly buttons on it.

However, my friend has the 518 and it is significantly lighter than the 510. Plus, I think, it has the on the fly DPI adjustment. So I DO like that mouse better. However, it isn't worth it, IMO, to spend the money just to shed a little weight.

I imagine the G5 is great however it has TWO less buttons on it and thus whatever precision movement gain I might get from it (which I imagine it isn't all that much) is dragged way down by the lack of buttons.

For any FPS, being able to switch weapons rapidly is key and so the more buttons at your fingertips the better.
