Bethesda and Machine Games announced today that the first cooperative focused title in the Wolfenstein franchise now has a release date. Wolfenstein: Youngblood is slated to be released on July 26, 2019 for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. The price on this will be $29.99 for the basic version.
This co-op focused title will take you and a friend back to 1980s Paris. You'll be playing as one of BJ Blazkowicz's twin daughters, Jess or Soph as you take down as many fascist loving Nazis as you can. In addition to a healthy dose of destroying the lives of Nazis, you two will be searching for your missing father.
If you don't have a friend to play with, that's alright. An AI companion will instead fill those shoes. There will, however, be a way to play the game with your friend even if only one of you actually owns the game. The Wolfenstein: Youngblood Deluxe Edition Buddy Pass will allow you to provide a Buddy Pass to one friend at a time. This Pass allows that friend to download and play Wolfenstein: Youngblood for free, so long as they're playing with the owner of the Deluxe Edition that gave them the code. These free players can choose to upgrade to the full game at any time to play on their own or with other players.
The Deluxe Edition also comes with some cosmetic bonus items via the Legacy Pack. This pack includes some of BJ's "iconic outfits and weapons" from the franchise. Including:
- The Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Jacket Power Suit
- B.J.’s US Army Power Suit
- The Wolfenstein: Old Blood Pipe
- The Wolfenstein: Old Blood Knife
- A WW2 Weapon Skin Set for all ranged weapons
Anyway, here's that gameplay trailer that the headline promised you. There are also some new screenshots and a big cover image (though it was shrunk down from its even more massive original size).
