PlayStation Dropping Twitter Integration on November 13

Another tech giant scraps Twitter integration as Musk continues to ruin the site.

In what can be seen as the continuation of a growing trend, another tech giant has announced that they will no longer support Twitter integration with their product. The latest comes from Sony, whom announced via PlayStation system notification that Twitter integration will no longer function starting on November 13, 2023.

The message from PlayStation has appeared for those firing up their...

    Twitter is Finally Dead

It's apparently been replaced by a unicode character.

The good news here is that Twitter is finally dead! The bad news is that it's only because Elon Musk is rebranding Twitter to X. Or to be more specific, it's 𝕏. That is to say, it's simply the unicode character U+1D54F. Yes, Musk and cohorts continue to take what already existed instead of creating something new themselves.

The change comes because Musk is apparently the biggest fan of the letter "X", that...

Meta's New Twitter Rival, Threads, Surpasses 30 Million Users

Over 10 million people signed up in the first seven hours.

Within its first seven hours of release, Meta's rival to Twitter, Threads, amassed over 10 million signups. This is according to a Thread shared by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. This morning, Zuckerberg posted another Thread saying that Threads has surpassed 30 million signups.

Threads is now available globally except for the EU, where the app is apparently not yet compliant with the upcoming Digital Markets Act (DMA)....

Xbox Backtracks on Sharing Media to Twitter Removal

    The complaints have been heard.

Some weeks back, newer Insider builds for the Xbox consoles removed the ability to share screenshots and clips directly to Twitter. The only way you would be able to post to Twitter, would have been to first upload the screenshots to the Xbox app on your phone and then send out the Tweets from that.

Why was this feature removed in the first place? It's not really clear. All that was clear was that users were not happy about this change....

Vertagear Apologizes for Making a Series of Sexist Tweets

Vertagear has apologized for making a series of sexist tweets, the latest of which was posted to their official Twitter account just yesterday. The company, known for their gaming chairs and other gaming accessories, issued an apology through their account after being publicly called out.

The tweet that kicked off this whole thing can be found here in the first screenshot. It was deleted shortly after it went up...

THQ Nordic Just Held a Q&A on a Site Banned for Child Exploitation

Since then, the company has issued an apology saying that they did not do their "proper due diligence to understand the history and the controversy of the site." They're full of shit.

A bit earlier today, THQ Nordic's PR team of Philipp Brock and Reinhard Pollice thought it would be a grand idea to host a Q&A (otherwise known as an "Ask Me Anything" or AMA) on 8chan. For those happily unaware, 8chan has been involved in multiple instances of child abuse, child...

The Full List of Nominees for The Game Awards 2018

The full list of nominees for The Game Awards 2018 was passed along to us today. You can check all of that out below.

You should know that The Game Awards will be held on Thursday, December 6 at the Microsoft Theater in LA at 9PM (ET). You can vote for your favorites right now at TheGameAwards.com, via Twitter Direct Message, Facebook Messenger, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and the official Game Awards Discord server.

All of that seems really odd and they did not specify how to do any of that, but there you are. I even tried to ask my Google Home "how do I vote for The Game Awards" and it had no idea.

You will be able to watch The Game Awards live on December 6 through YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, Mixer, Steam TV, PlayStation 4, Xbox Live, IGN, GameSpot, Polygon, MLG, and Caffeine.tv. Believe it or not, there are actually even more places still not yet announced where you can watch it, especially if you live in China....

  • Reports of "Weak" Battlefield 5 Pre-Orders Attributed to Lack of Informative Sources from Analyst

Just a week ago, a number of news stories popped up about weak pre-order sales figures for Battlefield V. We were also among the many outlets that put up at least one story about this. Many of us even went so far as to say that EA's decision to sandwich Battlefield V's release between the year's two most anticipated titles were not doing the game any favors. And while it's still probably true that the earlier lack of marketing and the release date aren't really doing Battlefield 5 any favor...

Battlefield V Teaser Points Towards WWII Setting

Earlier today, the official Battlefield Twitter account provided just a tiny little peak at Battlefield V. In the teaser, you see a few things. First and foremost, you see a man saying "shh" but you also see a bit of the game's HUD. The HUD seems like standard stuff for a Battlefield game. But what's that? Are those the flags for the British and German forces? Why yes, I do believe that is the case. Meaning that it's not going to be a Vietnam setting as some people have speculated over the pr...

Nintendo Switch Online Launching September 2018

Nintendo made the briefest of announcements this evening concerning their online plans for the Switch.

In a short Tweet, the company said that Nintendo Switch Online will launch in September 2018. That's it. There are absolutely no additional details provided. This would almost be non-news if it wasn't for the fact that Switch owners have been waiting for this for a while now....
