  • Valve Announces Subscription Service Dota Plus "An Evolution of the Majors Battle Pass"

    Earlier today, Valve announced Dota Plus, a new monthly subscription service for Dota 2 that is "designed to help you get the most out of every match you play." They're also calling it an "evolution of the Battle Pass" that Valve tends to put out for events like The International or the Majors.

    The difference now is that the Pro Circuit meant that the Majors Battle Passes are being replaced with this Dota Plus service. It won't rely on a specific start and end date and it's something that Valve promises they will add features and content to over time.

    Valve announced that The International 2017 DOTA 2 tournament will take place from August 7 through August 12, 2017. The event will be held at Seattle's KeyArena. Tickets for the event go on sale starting Tuesday, April 4 at 10AM (PT) and 10PM. There are two ticket types available. At $100 (USD) you will be given access to the first four days of the event. Tickets for the Finals will go for $200 and will grant access to the last two days of the event. That means if you want to watch the entire event, you will need to pay $300.     Valve announced that starting this Fall, they will hold a series of tournaments that ends at the next International. They're calling these The Majors and the first one will kick off in Europe in November.
