While the timing of the messaging may seem random, it was probably born from the ever growing concern that the mass layoffs across XBOX, which have also greatly impacted Bethesda, would lead to game cancelations and a shutdown of services for existing titles.

ZeniMax Online Studios shared a look at the new content that is coming to The Elder Scrolls Online throughout 2026. It all begins with Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk that will kick off on April 2, 2026.

Season Zero adds a new Event Zone, The Night Market. There will also be some nice improvements coming to player experience, combat, and PvP in addition to the new Challenge Difficulty system. There will be new Thieves Guild and Sheogorath story...

Update 47 for The Elder Scrolls Online is now available on PC and Mac. This update, Feast of Shadows, includes a new dungeon pack and some other content. It is included in ESO's 2025 Content Pass.

This Feast of Shadows dungeon pass brings two new four-player dungeons: Black Gem Foundry and Naj-Caldeesh. Both dungeons add new lore elements, new bosses, and a variety of in-game rewards.

Today, the 2025 ESO Direct was hosted by ZeniMax Online Studios. During the event, the company revealed new content for The Elder Scrolls Online for the months ahead in 2025.

Highlighting the new content are the "Seasons of the Worm Cult," which takes players to the island of Solstice. This is a new zone which will deliver "a long-awaited sequel to ESO's base game storyline."

Update 44 for The Elder Scrolls Online is now available for free for those playing on both PC and Mac. As is usual with these updates to ESO, the update will arrive on Xbox and PlayStation consoles a bit later on November 13th.

The last part of the Legacy of the Bretons yearlong story for The Elder Scrolls Online is about to come to an end. Today's PC and Mac release of Firesong is the final DLC for the MMO for 2022.
