A new multiplayer mode was just announced today along with a new multiplayer focused trailer.

A remake of the old SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom was announced today by THQ Nordic. The publisher said that the remake is called SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated and it is being developed by Purple Lamp Studios.
There isn't too much to go on right now from today's announcement. I assume it's just the old game but given a fresh coat of paint....
