Ubisoft Shares Very Early Look at Splinter Cell Remake

This is all you're going to get for a long while.

Ubisoft shared the first tiniest glimpse of the upcoming Splinter Cell remake today as part of a 20th anniversary celebration of the stealth-action franchise. When I say "tiniest glimpse" I really mean it here because all that we were shown are a few pieces of concept art for the game that is probably still a couple of years away from release.

The image was accompanied by a statement from creative director Chris...

Ubisoft is Bleeding Employees in Wake of Company-wide Issues

Numerous employees are quitting due to low pay, the lack of change, and other issues.

People quitting their jobs in search of more fulfilling careers really isn't all that uncommon here in late 2021. We have seen it across multiple industries and workplaces as workers start to realize that they're worth more than the bare minimum many employers offer them.

And while this is happening within the gaming industry as well, it seems to be happening at a much higher rate at...

There weren't too many concrete details shared as development has literally just started on this project. However, the announcement did include a brief interview with three developers working on the project. Those developers...

New Splinter Cell Game Reportedly in Development

Hey look, it's this rumor again.

It is once again time to toss out another new rumor about a Splinter Cell game being in active development at Ubisoft. The latest one comes from VGC who cites multiple anonymous "development sources" that claim a new Splinter Cell game is in the earliest stages of development. These sources suggest that there's a small chance that the game will maybe be announced in 2022.

The VGC article, written by Tom "let's toss a bunch...

Tom Clancy's Elite Squad Shutting Down in October

The game that used BLM imagery came and went like a fart in the wind.

Tom Clancy's Elite Squad will just be barely a year old when Ubisoft pulls the plug on October 4. The game, which was first announced in a trailer that used Black Lives Matter (BLM) imagery in early 2020. It came out worldwide on mobile devices on August 25, 2020.

When the game was announced, it angered a lot of people for different reasons. First off, they ticked off Splinter Cell fans by bringing back...

This game is reportedly codenamed "Battlecat" and will combine the worlds of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and The Division. Splinter Cell Anime in the Works

Ok, it's not "technically" an anime.

When you pictured the grand return of Sam Fisher and the Splinter Cell franchise, I bet you did not expect it to be in the form of an animated series (or mobile game). Yet here in 2020, where we have come to expect the unexpected, we are about to get just that. An animated series based on Splinter Cell is in the works. Let's see how it compares to the best sports anime.

The show is being worked on for Netflix. Derek Kolstad,...

New 'Experimental' Splinter Cell Game Confirmed by Ubisoft CEO

    Open World? GAAS? Mobile? VR?

The emotional rollercoaster that fans of the Splinter Cell series has been on for the past few years has been never ending, has had no chill, and frankly, it's gotten to be a wee bit tiresome. In May of this year, a new Splinter Cell was apparently "confirmed" and then it was later revealed to just be a joke.

Last month, we again heard a rumor that a new Splinter Cell was actually in the works. However, that story from July says...

Facebook Reportedly Bringing Splinter Cell Back... as a VR Game

Who wished on a monkey's paw?!

There is a story circulating today saying that Facebook may have already signed deals with Ubisoft to bring back Splinter Cell and a new Assassin's Creed title. That's not the weird part. The weird part here is that the deal is to create VR games in these two popular franchises. And since it's Facebook that pushed the deal, that would mean that the games would be Oculus "exclusive" and sold through their Oculus Store.

    This is, at...

  • New Splinter Cell Game Confirmed by Ubisoft Creative Director (Update: Only a 'joke')

That sure is one way to announce a game, I suppose.

Update: Ubisoft issued a statement after this apparent earlier "confirmation" by Gerighty.

Ah, so it was a "joke." Ha...

    ... ha?

If you still somehow doubt it, Jason Schreier also confirmed that it was just a joke.

Original: Julian Gerighty is a Creative Director at Ubisoft that has helped to create and bring games like The Division 2 and the Splinter...

Michael Ironside Returns as Sam Fisher in Ghost Recon Wildlands

I somehow had no idea about this news until about a minute ago, but Ubisoft revealed today that Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher is back. Back in the sense that he'll be a special partner brought in for a special Ghost Recon Wildlands event. The very short announcement says that the "full briefing" will be on April 9. Perhaps the best part about all of this? Michael Ironside is back as the voice of Sam Fisher. I can only assume (perhaps hope and pray even) that this means there's a new Splin...
