Nvidia Confirms 'Rare' Manufacturing Defect for RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070 Ti GPUs
This "rare" defect is hindering performance for early adopters.
Late last week, Nvidia confirmed that there was a "rare" manufacturing defect with early shipments of their new GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5070 Ti GPUs. The issue being that some cards shipped with fewer render output units (ROP) than they should have. This results in a fancy new graphics card that isn't able to actually meet the performance metrics that are advertised and sold.
