ASUS and Nvidia Both Say that the RTX 5070 Ti Is Not Dead, At Least Not Yet

But doesn't a near total lack of supply effectively mean it's dead?

A report made just this week said that the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti and Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti (16 GB) were "end of life." Hardware Unboxed relayed information that they were given by AIB partners such as ASUS, saying that production on these GPUs were effectively done and that whatever is currently left on shelves is all that is left.

Ah, but now ASUS and Nvidia have both made public statements in response...

Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti Reaches 'End of Life' as Memory Shortage Worsens

One of the first notable GPU casualties from the memory shortage.

Hardware Unboxed, citing conversations they had with retailers and AIB partners, say that the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti GPU is dead. These conversations were held following this month's Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

  • Nvidia Confirms 'Rare' Manufacturing Defect for RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070 Ti GPUs

This "rare" defect is hindering performance for early adopters.

Late last week, Nvidia confirmed that there was a "rare" manufacturing defect with early shipments of their new GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5070 Ti GPUs. The issue being that some cards shipped with fewer render output units (ROP) than they should have. This results in a fancy new graphics card that isn't able to actually meet the performance metrics that are advertised and sold.

Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti Released annnnd It's Gone

Sorry, did you want a new GPU? Too bad.

Nvidia released their GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics cards today and, yep, they're already sold out everywhere. The "paper launch" of the RTX 50-series continues without remorse after a similar thing happened with the late January release of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080.

For the RTX 5090 supply, Nvidia seems at least be making efforts to fix the supply woes. Nvidia's third-party partners are expected to get a "stupidly...
