    Critical Consensus: Dead Space

The remake seems to be scaring up some good reviews.

The reviews are in for Dead Space and it seems like the remake is quite good. At the time of writing, Dead Space sits at a 90% average on OpenCritic. Of the 72 critic reviews counted, 96% of them recommend this remake.

Motive Studios did a rather solid job on this one. Dead Space features greatly improved visuals and audio when compared to the already amazing original. It also features seamless gameplay from start to...

    Critical Consensus: Forspoken

I'm somewhere that's not what I would call Earth, I'm seeing freakin' dragons, and oh yeah I'm in a kind of bad game.

The reviews for Forspoken started to come out today and wow, they are not good. They aren't exactly terrible, but for a game that has been sitting in the spotlight for so long, the scores this game is receiving cannot be what Square Enix was hoping for. Forspoken sits at a 69% average on OpenCritic, and what critics have been saying are not painting a very pretty picture...

New Saints Row is Apparently a Broken Mess

The reviews are in and critics agree: Yikes!

If you were debating on picking up the new Saints Row game when it comes out on August 23, 2022 you should probably not get it. Just don't buy it. In fact, I'd probably wait maybe a year or so before picking it up. Not only will the game more than likely be out on Steam at that point for you PC users, but it will probably also be a lot less buggy. It will probably also be available for a big discount.

The newest entry in a franchise...

    Cyberpunk 2077 Review Roundup

    Hold on to your butts.

Reviews for Cyberpunk 2077 started to trickle in today starting around noon (ET). There really aren't too many reviews out there just yet since the PR company responsible for North American key distribution never actually got keys to give out! As of right now, only the most major of outlets in North America were given a review key. These are in addition to a number of outlets in Europe that worked directly with CD Projekt Red for keys.

    So, if you...

Take Early Borderlands 3 Reviews with a Grain of Salt

Copies of Borderlands 3 given to only a select few review sites ahead of launch.

Review copies of Borderlands 3 have only been provided to a select few media outlets ahead of the game's launch on Friday, September 13. The game's publisher, 2K, says that this is all due in part to some unspecified "security concerns" over the game.

As Kotaku points out, most review copies are provided to outlets roughly a week or two ahead of the public launch. These review copies...

  • Critical Consensus: Crackdown 3, Far Cry New Dawn, Jump Force, and Metro Exodus

Tomorrow is a massive release day for games. For some reason, publishers and developers decided that people who play video games would need a lot of joy in their lives come February 15. I simply cannot fathom why.

Needless to say, there are four major titles being released tomorrow and the reviews for all of them are now in. Well, almost all of them. Though Anthem is also coming out tomorrow, it is only being released for those that have EA Access, Origin Access, or Origin Access...

Mass Effect: Andromeda Review Scores Sitting in the Mid-70s

It looks like the embargo on reviews for Mass Effect: Andromeda lifted earlier tonight. Both OpenCritic and Metacritic have their initial scores already in from a variety of outlets. At present, OpenCritic has Andromeda sitting at an average score of 75%. This is across all platforms.

Metacritic has the PC and PlayStation 4 versions of Andromeda at 73% while the Xbox One version somehow edges out an additional 3% to (currently) give it an average score of 76%. In general...

Bethesda Will Not Send Advance Copies of Games for Review

As we previously saw with DOOM, so will be the case with future titles published by Bethesda. The company announced today that the press will not receive review copies until just a day ahead of official release dates. This will apply to Dishonored 2 and Skyrim Special Edition.
Earlier this year we released DOOM. We sent review copies to arrive the day before launch, which led to speculation about the quality of the game. Since then DOOM has emerged as a critical and commercial hit,

Total Gaming Network Now on OpenCritic

Recently, OpenCritic kicked off their new Contributor Program. In short, it's a way for OpenCritic to bring to light a plethora of reviews from sites that aren't quite as big and all reaching as the IGNs and GameSpots of the world. It's a great way for sites like Total Gaming Network to get our reviews out there to perhaps help a larger audience make an informed decision on whether or not a game is worth spending money on. To be very clear, the scores of those enrolled in the Contrib...

Valve Makes Steam User Reviews Slightly Less Terrible on Steam

Steam user reviews tend to suck. The top reviews are usually the bandwagon fluff that also tends to infest such sites as Metacritic's user scores on games or they're "joke" posts with a punchline that only those that are mentally eight years old would laugh at.

Today, Valve took a few steps to fix this issue of user scores.

  • Week in Review: Catching Up with Fallout 4 DLC, The Division, and Forced Showdown (All of April 2016)

It's certainly been quite some time since we last had one of these Weeks in Review, yeah? Sorry about that, but you know at least one of the reasons already. With that out of the way, it should be noted that there have been a number of games that I played in the past few weeks.

Some of these reviews will be a bit shorter than previous entries just so I don't exhaust myself with all of the reviews I think I have to write. Keep in mind that I'm not actually sure how many games are going to end up below, so anything I just said might end up being a load of crap....
