This fate was inevitable.

According to a report by IGN, E3 2023 is canceled. This comes after weeks of publishers and gaming companies stating that they were not going to attend E3 this year, including Ubisoft, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Tencent, and more.

IGN's report from March 30 says that two separate sources confirmed with them that the Entertainment Software Association (ESA; the group behind E3) sent out emails to ESA members earlier today announcing the cancellation....

This news comes a month after Ubisoft initially said they were attending the event.

Ubisoft says that they no longer plan on attending E3 2023. This comes just a month after Ubisoft initially said that they would be in attendance at the revamped in-person event. A series of digital events are happening though major studios have yet to commit.

E3 2023 Dated for June 13

The dates for E3 2023 have been announced.

With a resounding and enthusiastic "ok," the dates have been revealed for E3 2023. Those dates marking the expo's long awaited return will be June 13th through the 16th.

E3 2023 will once again return to the Los Angeles Convention Center for an in-person, super spreader extravaganza! There will be some partnered pre-show events starting on June 11, as per usual. The actual event will begin on the 13th.

PAX West 2021 Returns to Being an In-person Event
