For a brief moment in time, it almost appeared as though Warner Bros. did the PC gaming community a solid when they removed Denuvo anti-tamper from Gotham Knights. The controversial DRM has long been thorn in the sides of those looking to play games on PC. It aims to prevent, or at least slow the availability of, cracked versions of new releases, but it has often been found to be the source of...

Warner Bros. accidentally removed the anti-tamper protection from their game for a time.

in NewsHands On with Sea of Thieves (PC)
During the most recent beta for Rare's upcoming high seas pirating adventure, Sea of Thieves, I was fortunate enough to be given a key and test the waters for myself. My first go at the game included two of my friends and a random person teaming up for a four man crew aboard a large and worthy vessel. We collected our supplies from the port at which we spawned. Supplies that included bananas to help us replenish our health if needed, cannonballs to engage in piracy on the open waters...

in NewsRime DRM Cracked; Developer Moves Forward on Promise to Remove DRM for All
Earlier today it was reported that the DRM used for RiME was cracked. That DRM is, of course, Denuvo. Given that the game just came out on the 26th, this might be a new record for how quickly a Denuvo game was cracked.
RiME's developer, Grey Box, had promised that if the DRM was cracked that they would remove it for everyone.
True to their word, they are moving forward with doing precisely that.
Hi everybody, We wanted to give you an update regarding t... -

in NewsThe Witness is Being Heavily Pirated Claims Creator
Jonathan Blow made some comments on Twitter (via GI.biz) earlier that finds the Indie developer questioning his future in the industry. The culprit is once again the industry boogeyman, piracy.
It seems The Witness is the #1 game on a certain popular torrent site. Unfortunately this will not help us afford to make another game!...I'm glad that a lot more people will be experiencing the game! But I also want to be able to make another comparable game next! Just sayin'.

in NewsIf You Cannot See an FOV Slider in Far Cry 4 You Are a Dirty Pirate
That's the general feeling issued by Ubisoft's Alex Hutchinson in a recent Tweet. According to Hutchinson, if you cannot see an FOV slider in your PC version of Far Cry 4, you probably pirated the game!... -

in NewsPirated Copies of The Sims 4 Turns the Game into Minecraft
If you pirate The Sims 4, get ready to have your entire game look like a blocky mess.
According to Playerattack, if you pirate the latest entry in the Sims franchise, the entire game area becomes pixelated. It essentially takes the pixel blur that the game applies to your Sims when they use the bathroom or take a shower and applies it to the entire viewing area. In fact, what this does is it starts off uncensored until your Sim uses the bathroom. That pixela... -
