Photo Mode Announced for Metro Exodus

Deep Silver and 4A Games announced today that Metro Exodus will include a Photo Mode. It will be included at the game's release, which just happens to be February 15.

Though the Photo Mode is included on all platforms (PS4, XB1, & PC), PC players will also get Ansel support. To add, PC players will also get the benefit of that lovely RTX tech to really make their screenshots stand out.

I'm also seeing that this is the first of a week of "daily announcements" for Metro Exodus. It will be very interesting to see what the rest of the week...

Photo Mode Added to God of War

As promised prior to the game's release, a Photo Mode has been added to God of War today. Take some scenic shots. Take some action shots. You can even take some funny shots. All of these shots, and more, can be yours when you download the 1.20 patch for God of War today on your PlayStation 4.
Photo Mode can be accessed either through the Options Menu or by enabling Touch Pad Quick Access (which can be enabled via the settings). To control the Photo Mode camera, use the Left and Right Thumb Sticks to navigate around the scene, and use the R2 and L2 buttons to pan up or down. You can move the camera back to its original position at any time by pressing Square. There are five

2014's Biggest Disappointments in the Gaming Industry - Part 2

Let's continue where I left off in "2014's Biggest Disappointments in the Gaming Industry - Part 1" from yesterday!

Xbox One Lacks a Screenshot Feature
The Xbox One shipped with even fewer features than the PlayStation 4 did, but a lot of cool new features have been added to the system regularly throughout the year. However, it still lacks a feature that fans have wanted from the start: The ability to take screenshots. The system already has the ability to record short gameplay clips but it can't take a simple screenshot? The PlayStation 4 had this feature in from the start and is personally one of my favorite features on the console. On the PS4, the call for more games to feature a "photo mode" has taken off because of how useful and fun it is.

That's not even mentioning that sharing screenshots online is essentially free advertising for the game and for the console it was taken on. Microsoft constantly notes that they are still working on adding the functionality to the Xbox One but there is still no date given on when that might actually happen.

    Timed Exclusives
I generally don't have any issues when a first-party game is announced as being exclusive to one platform or one console. These things happen and it's simply a par...

Photo Mode Added to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Today

WBIE announced today that Photo Mode has been introduced to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor as part of a free update. The Photo Mode is out now for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game, with the PC update coming "very soon."

As you may expect, the Photo Mode operates in a similar fashion to the ones found in Infamous: Second Son/First Light and The Last of Us Remastered. Hopefully, this is the start of a new trend in game features that many other games will adopt....

Photo Mode in The Last of Us Remastered Sure Does Look Pretty

Arne Meyer works at Naughty Dog. He also posts on NeoGAF. A recent post of his at NeoGAF contains an image that Neil Druckman took using the photo mode within The Last of Us Remastered.
So Neil came by my desk earlier to talk about something and I had photo mode up and he started playing around with it. I left, came back a while better and he left this beauty up on the screen.

So here you go... a photo mode screenshot personally composed by Neil.

    That sure does look nice....
