The second film in the Mortal Kombat film reboot has been delayed. Mortal Kombat 2 from director Simon McQuoid and starring Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, has been delayed until next summer.

The report comes from Deadline. According to their scoop, Mortal Kombat 2 will not hit theaters until May 15, 2025. The film was originally expected to be released on October 24, 2025.

The first poster for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2 film, not to be confused with Mortal Kombat II or Mortal Kombat 2 (Annihilation), was shared earlier today by Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon. The first look at the upcoming film shows off Karl Urban (The Boys, The Lord of the Rings, Star Trek) as the mega Hollywood action star, Johnny Cage.
