Some fans have already managed to pick up the retail release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for the PC. That's all well and good, early releases happen all the time. What isn't good is that Konami apparently only included a Steam installer on the disc. That's it.
This has so far been "confirmed" by at least one person. Now, whether or not this person is simply trolling the world remains to be seen, so take this news with as much salt as you feel comfortable... -

Today, Hideo Kojima released the launch trailer, and presumably final pre-release trailer, for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. This is also the final Metal Gear franchise trailer that he will ever put together.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, a Hideo Kojima game, will be released on September 1, 2015.

Konami announced today that the PC release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will release day and date with its console brothers. That is to say, every platform will get to play the game on September 1, 2015.
In addition to this, the system requirements for the game have been revealed for the PC version of the game.

A press event has been going on this week at Konami's LA offices for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. As tends to happen, some bits of information have made their way online from this event despite there being a full embargo until June 9.
