    Review: The Sinking City (PC)

    That sinking feeling.

Frogware's The Sinking City is perhaps the best love letter to Lovecraft that we have seen in quite some time, but that may not be saying much. This most direct competition to The Sinking City was 2018's Call of Cthulhu, which really failed to capitalize on any single gameplay aspect. The Sinking City, on the other hand, at least manages to excel in one or two key areas, even if it barely stays afloat in others.

The city of Oakmont is the main location for The Sinking City. The first thing you see upon arrival is dreariness. Well, that and a dead...

The Sinking City Delayed Until June

Though originally slated to be released on March 21, 2019, the upcoming investigative horror title, The Sinking City, has been delayed. The new release date for the title is now June 27, 2019. This delay applies to all platforms, those being the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

We got a nice gameplay video for The Sinking City last week. The video showed off some of the investigation parts of the gameplay. I mean, it makes sense, doesn't it? You are a detective after all. You just happen to be a detective investigating weird things going on that may or may not involve a powerful...

Bigben and Frogwares released a new gameplay video today for The Sinking City, the upcoming Lovecraft inspired investigative thriller. In The Sinking City players assume the role of Charles Reed, a detective that finds himself investigating some "supernatural elements" that are causing a bit of a stir in the town of Oakmont. The game takes place in the '20s as Oakmont begins to succumb to a supernatural flood.

Players need to rely on their own observational skills and notebook. Explore crime scenes, gather clues, and question witnesses to try to piece some clues together....

    Review: Call of Cthulhu (PC)

    Choices matter?
Call of Cthulhu places you in the shoes of Edward Pierce, a private investigator that falls firmly in the overused trope of being one drink away from full blown alcoholism. Pierce is a man with a mysterious past and, apparently, a pre-destined future. A future that finds him headed towards Darkwater Island in an attempt to get some concrete answers as to what really happened to the Hawkins family. Was it a simple accident that consumed the lives of a mother, father, and their child, or was it something far more sinister? Darkwater is as much of a character in Call of Cthulhu as Pierce or the other island inhabitants. It's as inviting to outsiders as a slap across the face, but serves as the perfect setting for a story that involves the eldritch monster Cthulhu. Darkwater seems almost lost in time, shrouded in what seems like a perpetual green gloom and mist th...

The Sinking City is on track for release on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One come March 21, 2019.
"Before we go any further, allow me to tell you about Charles Winfield Reed. When I met him, he had just arrived at our hospital after having been found, alone and as-if possessed, on a desert island, lost in the middle of the ocean. He was a veteran of the First World War, and had been a crewmember on the USS Cyclops. I never found out exactly what happened, but
