Riot Games shared a new Dev Update video today where a few members of the team talk about the new content coming with the release of Season 2 Act 2 for League of Legends. This update will add in a new Spirit Blossom-themed map for ARAM, the new champion Yunara, and "in-client meta-games." ...

The previous update didn't quite sit well with fans.

Riot Games says that they're going to be making some changes to League of Legends that they hope will address recent player feedback. Apparently, the still popular MOBA was updated with a few things that didn't quite "hit the mark for everyone." The dev team at Riot wants to right some of those wrongs.

Riot says it's not about saving money.

On October 15th, Riot Games announced that an undisclosed number of employees were laid off from their company. This is the second round of layoffs at Riot Games just in the past year alone. In January 2024, Riot laid off 530 employees and shut down Riot Forge.

Today's layoff announcement did not publicly share how many employees were being let go. However, a separate report from GamesIndustry states that 32 employees are impacted....

Another studio has been hit hard by layoffs.

Axis Studios, a visual effects company that has ties to several popular games, has gone into administration. The company has reportedly suffered from "severe cash flow problems" and has had to layoff 162 employees.

Riot Forge announced that pre-orders for their cute looking crafting-RPG, Bandle Tale: A League of Legends Story, are now open across all digital storefronts. The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story was announced by Riot Forge.

This spring, a new "gritty indie 2D hi-bit pixel action-RPG" will hit the scene. It's called The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story and it will take players with raising a mage army and leading a revolution. You know, simple stuff.

Riot Games has made the decision to disable /all chat in all matchmade games of League of Legends. This is being done as part of the studio's effort to reduce toxic behavior in their MOBA-style game.
