Valve and Other PC Publishers Fined by EU Commission

The issue revolves around the companies "geo-blocking" various games.

The European Commission has fined Valve and five publishers a combined total of €7.8 million for a breaching of antitrust rules. The other publishers in question include Bandai Namco, Capcom, Focus Home Interactive, Koch Media, and ZeniMax. Valve's portion of the fine is merely €1.6 million while the rest of the €7.8 million is split up unevenly between the five publishers. The degree to which the...

    THQ Nordic Acquires Koch Media

News broke early this morning that THQ Nordic has acquired Koch Media. The deal, worth 121 million euro, means that THQ Nordic also now owns Deep Silver, the publisher of Saints Row, Dead Island, the upcoming Shenmue 3, the upcoming Metro Exodus, and the recently released Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Deep Silver Buys Homefront IP from Crytek

In a move that should help Crytek out financially for the short term, they have sold the Homefront IP to Koch Media, the parent company of Deep Silver. This sale will see Crytek UK turn into Deep Silver Dambuster Studios. It should also hopefully mean that those still left at the former Crytek UK will finally start to get paid again.

Koch has stated that development on Homefront: The Revolution will continue at Deep Silver Dambuster Studios. Hasit Zala had left Crytek UK...
