Final Fantasy XV PC Tech Demo Video

Yesterday, news came out of GDC 2017 that Square Enix showed off some Final Fantasy XV assets running on PC with an Nvidia GTX 1080Ti. Today, Square Enix just up and released that trailer to the public.

The PC footage in question begins around the 1:45 mark in the video. And yep, that sure looks like Final Fantasy XV running on a PC with some rather lovely grass tech and lighting at work there.

  • Nvidia Announces GTX 1080Ti - 35% Performance Gains, $699 Price, Arrives March 5

Nvidia delivered some damn fine news yesterday during their early GDC 2017 presentation. First off, Nvidia has officially lowered the MSRP for the base GTX 1080 by $100 (USD). This puts the MSRP to around $500 for the 1080.

After they did this, they announced the GTX 1080Ti for $699. This $700 card offers more performance than a Titan X Pascal for well under the Titan X's $1200 asking price.

What are we looking at here with the 1080Ti? It features 11GB of GDDR5X RAM, memory speed of 11Gbps, and a Boost Clock of 1582MHz. A look at how this compares to the Titan X, the GTX 1080, and the 980Ti can be found below.

GDC 2017: Square Enix Shows Off Final Fantasy XV Tech Tests Running on PC

Square Enix's Hajime Tabata showed off a very interesting demo reel at GDC today. According to PCGamesN, Tabata's special demo reel had a number of very familiar Final Fantasy XV characters running around through some fields.

The demo utilized Nvidia's TurfEffects that allowed for the scene to render 100 million blades of grass that properly reacted to the characters running through them. It also showed off Nvidia's new fluid dynamics and fur that is part of their Gameworks systems.

Nvidia Counts Down to 1080Ti Reveal

Nvidia had their own (pseudo) announcement today. The company has put up a timer on their GeForce website. The countdown is for roughly six days from now (six days, 3.5 hours from the time of this posting to be exact) and it strongly hints at them finally revealing the GTX 1080Ti.

They also included a small tweet earlier today saying "It's almost time" with a video that again highlights the "Ti" part.
As the countdown takes us to February 28, it might be a safe bet that the cards will be launched at that point. Let's just hope that Nvidia doesn't do a "soft" launch with this, or worse, a pa...
