The Full List of Nominees for The Game Awards 2018

The full list of nominees for The Game Awards 2018 was passed along to us today. You can check all of that out below.

You should know that The Game Awards will be held on Thursday, December 6 at the Microsoft Theater in LA at 9PM (ET). You can vote for your favorites right now at TheGameAwards.com, via Twitter Direct Message, Facebook Messenger, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and the official Game Awards Discord server.

All of that seems really odd and they did not specify how to do any of that, but there you are. I even tried to ask my Google Home "how do I vote for The Game Awards" and it had no idea.

You will be able to watch The Game Awards live on December 6 through YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, Mixer, Steam TV, PlayStation 4, Xbox Live, IGN, GameSpot, Polygon, MLG, and Caffeine.tv. Believe it or not, there are actually even more places still not yet announced where you can watch it, especially if you live in China....

Devil May Cry 5 Has Microtransactions. So What?

Over the weekend, the Internet lost its collective mind, as it tends to do, over Bowsette Peachowser the revelation that Devil May Cry 5 will have microtransactions. These microtransactions will allow you to get a bunchy of Red Orbs, the series equivalent to experience orbs. The microtranactions are there as a way to fast-track your ability to unlock new moves in the game.

GameSpot first noticed the microtransactions during some hands on time with Devil May Cry 5 during the Tokyo Game Show. They asked the game's director Hideaki Itsuno what the deal...

  • No New Assassin's Creed Game Planned for 2019 as Ubisoft Plans Long-Term Support for Odyssey

According to Yves Guillemot, as quoted by GameSpot, there will not be a new Assassin's Creed game coming in 2019.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot delivered this news earlier at Gamescom.
"On Assassin's, we had a game [in 2018] and we have one this year, but we are not going to have a full-fledged Assassin's next year. It's just because the team were working separately, so we have two games now, one year after the other. But next year you're not going to have a fully fledged one.
Well, that just means that they're going to release a smaller Assassin's ...

Prior to the announcement of Final Fantasy XV's release date, which is coincidentally taking place right now, GameSpot let slip that the release date for the game is September 30. In addition, a demo is slated to arrive either late tonight or tomorrow.

  • Microsoft Claims Halo is the Star Wars of Video Games, Has That "Special Sauce"

In an interview with GameSpot, Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg made a pretty bold and confusing claim about Halo's status in the world of gaming. Or maybe it was Halo's status in the world of movies? Perhaps it was Halo's status in the world? I'm not really sure what he was going for here.
Does Halo 5 need to be the best-selling Halo ever? What are your expectations internally? For us, I think in many ways it feels like the most anticipated game of the year. Because Halo is something so special that people have waited years for a new Halo to come out. I

  • Konami Denies Statements from GameSpot that say MGS 5: The Phantom Pain Multiplayer is Locked Behind a Paywall

Yesterday, GameSpot put out an article that said Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain's forward operating base (FOB) multiplayer, was locked behind a paywall. Gamespot said that in order to even play FOB, players had to first purchase an in-game currency, MB Coins, using real world money.

Today, Konami issued a statement to PC Gamer that flat out said that was a complete load of BS.
"Gamespot posted an article following the review that the PVP (FOB) mode in MGSV TPP will be restricted behind a micro-transaction paywall and that is simply not true.
