  • Bethesda Comments on Fallout 76 Player Feedback - FOV Slider, Ultra-Wide Support, Push-to-Talk and More

Following up on the Fallout 76 beta, Bethesda took to Reddit to issue a few statements about what is and is not coming as a result of player feedback. Notably, a number of these comments are focused on the PC version of the game including some unfortunate remarks about the potential for an FOV slider, but everyone interested in the game should take a look.

Rick and Morty to Promote Fallout 76

Bethesda is giving a real hard shove for Fallout 76 on November 8 with a special promotional stream. The stream includes Ninja, Logic, and Rick & Morty. Yes, the cartoon characters of Rick and Morty will be included in this stream.

I... ok, whatever. Look, let's just get on with this.

Fallout 76 Walk Speed Reportedly Tied to Framerate, No FOV Slider

It sounds as though the Fallout 76 beta is an absolute mess, at least on the PC. It all started when the BethesdaNet client just straight up deleted players' pre-loads for a time last night.

Since then, some additional issues have started to circulate on the Internet.

DSO Gaming reports that the Fallout 76 beta does not include an FOV slider, nor does it include support for 16:10 or 21:9 monitors.

On top of that, it seems as though player movement speed is tied to the framerate of your client. This means that PC players can unlock their framerate via an INI tweak, stare at the ground to increase their framerate, and outrun pretty much anything in the game.

A video from Twitter user @teajayylmao shows this off nicely.

  • Bethesda Warns Fallout 76 Players Not to Touch Anything as It Could Delete Your Game

I cannot even wrap my mind around how something of this magnitude happens. But apparently, if you pre-loaded the Fallout 76 beta, you run the very real risk of having your entire pre-load be deleted if you touch literally any button on the game client.

According to Variety, Bethesda noticed login issues that were affecting the BethesdaNet client. Bethesda Support issued a warning not to touch any button on the client. Those who never saw the warning or chose to ignore it had their pre-loads deleted. Those who were actively downloading the beta or those with a "visible progress bar" should still be okay. Tonight's beta, assum...

Fallout 76 BETA Dated for October 23; Intro Video Revealed

We have some big news for those looking forward to trying out Fallout 76 today. The B.E.T.A. (Break-It Early Test Application) arrives first on the Xbox One on October 23. PlayStation 4 and PC users will get access to it on Tuesday, October 30.

From the sounds of it, the beta will not be live 100% of the time. This is because the devs will be working on things and changing this and that to ensure a smooth launch of the full game on November 14. It's a beta and this is to be expected for an online game like Fallout 76. As always, you can consult the Fallout 76 BE.T.A. FAQ for additional details. Status updates during the beta will a...

Bethesda Confirms Fallout 76 Won't Launch on Steam

If you were still holding out hope for that "Fallout 76 is coming to Steam" announcement, I suggest you sit down for this news. Bethesda officially confirmed that the multiplayer focused Fallout title will not be released through Steam.

This confirmation comes from the Fallout 76 beta FAQ page that clearly states that the "B.E.T.A. and the game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and on PC (via Bethesda.net only)." And if you needed further confirmation, Bethesda issued a statement saying that fans should not expect to see the game on Steam.
"The PC version of Fallout 76, for both the B.E.T.A. and the launch, will be available

  • Fallout 76 Beta Announced for October, But Don't Expect an Invite on the First Day

Bethesda has finally revealed some additional details about their upcoming beta for Fallout 76. Sorry, the Fallout 76 B.E.T.A. (Break-it Early Test Application) as it's being called.

First off, we now know that the B.E.T.A. is scheduled for October, with the Xbox One version getting first dibs. PlayStation 4 and PC players will get access to the beta shortly after. We obviously don't have an exact date yet for any of these, only that it will be in October. This means that the span of time between the B.E.T.A. and the planned November 14 release date is just about a month long, which is not too much time in the grand scheme of things....

Fallout 76 - Online Multiplayer Focused, B.E.T.A. Test Announced

Fallout 76 is now confirmed to be an always online multiplayer game where you and a bunch of other players can get together for one big ol' post-apocalyptic party. Help each other, hurt each other, launch nukes at each other, quest together, or just ignore each other. It's all up to you when Fallout 76 launches on November 14, 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Bethesda's Todd Howard did confirm that you can still play the game solo, if you so desire.
